Disassemble the rear axle of a 2001 ford explorer sport trac 2wd
Andrea, it's been a long while since you've posted this question. I only hope for your sake the problem has since been taken care of, but if not, please let me know and I'll talk you through the steps to taking the rear axle out. It all starts in the rear pumpkin. You need to remove the tires and rear brake assemblies, but then you have to shift your attention to the rear gear housing. There are several pins in the gear box that need to come out, then the axles will slide out the respective sides.
If you can, email my link directly and I'll give you more in depth instruction.
Front oil seal leak
Hi there
Yes its either rear main or camshaft plug also rear of block or if you have a V8 then it could be inlet manifold gasket rear end but check out the engine breather before you do anything as if that isent breathing then thats your trouble its called PCV valve
How do I find out why my front passenger window wont go up in a 2004 ford sport trac
check fuses for window. if ok remove door panel, use test light on connector to motor, down will light on one wire and up will light the other. if there is power try tapping the motor and see if it works, if it does or doesnt it needs a motor and I would recommend replacing the regulator as well. if no power to motor check wiring in door jam its covered with accordion looking boot. pull boot back and look for broken wires. this usually fixes the problem.
2001 ford sport trac no brake lights
Just had same issue with my 01 sport trac. Just purchased truck an never noticed until several days later had no tail lights. Brake light on cab worked not on bed. After days of head banging an scratching I realized when steering wheel was tilted up had lights down no lights tore into steering column was an easy easy fix. The clip tht holds harness in place on top of cold was broke an plug had slid out a bit so pushed it in good an tight zip tied it for temp fix vuala tail lights! Wanted to share so if anyone else has issue they didn't have to spend days scratching their head!
My fuse keeps blowinng when i turn on my lights but the headlights ,blake lights and turn signals work but no tail or parking lights
If the fuse blows, you have a dead short to ground somewhere, likely around the tail lights or parking lights. Try this:
Get a box of the correct fuses.
Remove all tail and parking bulbs and put in a new fuse. If the fuse does not blow, try installing each bulb at a time to see which light assembly causes the fuse to blow.
Let's suppose its the RH tail light assembly. Pull it off the car and check for dirt and damaged wiring.
If this is an older vehicle, there may be wiring damage (due to rust) in the harness under the carpets.
Temp guage works erratic
It sounds like you have an air lock in the coolant system . loosen of a high point hose and let the air out while keeping an eye on the water level in the radiator.. engine temp sensor will only send a signal to the CPU to adjust the fuel mixture and turn the fan on. It is not a temp gauge sender unit.
Power locks - unlock does not work
probably but is could also be the receiver unit for the locks not receiving the new signal to unlock . Check wires but have the module checked as well
