use an 80 grade oil
I personally use oep 80/90 in the transmission because of the high teeth load in overdrive

Ford does not use shims like a GM, the midplate between the engine block and the transmission should act as a shim. I would take a good look at the flywheel for damaged teeth.

Seems you know what your doing

Recheck your work

If it won't idle, then maybe you have a vacuum leak
& that effects venturi vacuum & you don't get enough
fuel drawn in

Ouch! Sounds like the Bendix on the starter motor could have been damaged, or possibly the starter relay. I'd check the relay first. With ignition and engine off. pull the small terminal on the relay terminal Labeled "S" for start. It is next to the Battery terminal. (See enlarged pix on the link below.) Next, try to start the engine. It should not even try. Then, reconnect the starter wire to the relay. Have a friend start the engine and then pull the wire from the "S" terminal. If pulling the wire kills he engine, the you probably have a bad ignition switch. If the starter motor is still engaged with engine running, then I'd suspect a stuck relay or stuck Bendix. Since the relay is the cheaper component of the two (10 to 25 bucks), I'd change the relay. If the relay doesn't remedy the situation, It's time to replace the starter/Bandix.

Use the timing marks and put it on Top Dead Center #1 Cylinder and the Rotor in the Distributor will point right at where #1 Plug Wire will go.

is the flywheel worn out or just the ring gear, (starter gear)
first remove the trans mission then unbolt the flywheel, and replace
if only replacing the starter ring gear, use a soft hammer and bump it as you rotate the flywheel until it comes off, if the back side looks good heat it in the oven to 350 degrees and with gloves on run out and put it on the flywheel, it will go on easily, just hold it all the way on against the edge it rests on and turn it about 1/3 turn and hold for about 15 seconds and that's it, it will not come off unless you beat it off again

You can't fix this - seek the advice of your mechanic. Don't drive this vehicle until you do ... you will only worsen its condition and further damage your very expensive engine.

They sell o2 sensor trickers for the exhaust online but you shouldn't need them. If it's off road then eliminate the computer and wire in the distributor yourself. If keeping the computer then figure out if the plug is a single misfire or random. Try changing plugs and wires.

firing order 153624 make sure valves on no1 cylinder are closed with cams pointing upwards then the rotor arm points to this plug lead and away you go ,This cylinder is no1 and then swop the others to follow the firing order ,once running either check with a timing light or swing distributor till engine runs faster then back it up a bit till it just starts to slow and should be right if it pinks the back it back a bit more till it stops pinking
