Clean out the throttle body with fuel injection cleaner then check your vacuum lines if all are good then you should have codes set your check engine light should be on verify that the check engine light bulb is not burned out turn the key to the on position you should see all the dash lights //oil//battery//check engine light if you don't see it the bulb is blown out and if all other things I mentioned are done and the problem is still there either your throttle position sensor is bad or your idle air control valve but I would go to the throttle position sensor first because your car is now 17-18 years old by the door sticker date and if you don't know the repair history because it's a used car check that sensor first if you can get a code scanner from someone/ loaner from autozone you will no for sure

The spring or wire that connects your pedal to the throttle body may broken or damaged. Check under your hood and look at the throttle body (it's the carburetor looking thing). There should be a steel wire connected to it coming from the back of the engine bay. It should connect on the side where you'll see a few springs. If nothing looks broken there, turn the part of the throttle body connected to the spring and wire. If it revs up when you move it, then the cable could be broken somewhere between there and the gas pedal.

Alternatively, the linkage on the pedal could have been disconnected some how. Check behind and above the gas pedal to see if eveything is connected properly.

Ask the shop that thought all that work was necessary

Common sense tells you, that all those parts didn't fail

How hot does it get in degrees F? Does the cooling fan turn on? Is the coolant boiling over?
As far as your temp gage, maybe you have air in the system? I would think as far as you have driven, if you didn't bleed the system, it should have worked it's way out?
You could have combustion gasses getting into the coolant because of gasket issue?

Sounds like a sensor problem. Take it to a parts store and have them put it on a machine for you. This could help narrow down the problem

do you have a small propane torch? or a can or throttle body cleaner or anything similar? Spray the propane(Just the gas, do nit light it) or throttle body clean, slowly around the engine and if there is a vacuum leak the rpm will rise when the propane fumes or throttle body spray gets sucked in and you know it will be in that area. Anywhere from the front of the motor to the sides to all the way behind, it might not be a vacuum hose, could be an intake manifold leak. Smelling fuel when shutting off can be a different problem all together.

The description you give is a bit puzzling. A leak usually will continue to leak unless it is repaired. Bringing up the fluid level will only help until the fluid runs out again. Find a reputable place to seek service.

You are often better off going to a Dealer or multi-service repair place. Consider this, in many instances if you go to a specialty shop you will only receive that specialty. If they have no other service to offer you, they may perform a service you do not need as it is the only service they perform. An honest place would send you to another shop.

If battery keep dying in few hours then check if there is something drawing battery while car is of. It could be something easy like broken switch on door which leaves lights on to faulty computer which doesn't turn off . Sometimes those things are almost impossible to find and chaperone is to disconnect battery when leaving car overnight. Just make sure there is not electrical short somewhere which may cause car fire. Also is good idea to park car in quiet place, tur it off and listen for anything running, like radiator fan, ac blower etc.

There's only one thermostat and if your not circulating antifreeze the thermostat is either stuck closed or your cooling passages are clogged did anyone put stop leak in the motor if so they put in a lot and the engine is blocked buy change the thermostat and see what happens

This is usually due to a connector terminal that is loose in the connector. It might even be the connector right on the back of the cluster. The female end of the connector has terminals that the pins on the female side slip into. When the terminals are not set in the connector, they slip back causing an intermittent connection.
