Where they collapsing before you replace it? If you still have the old one put the old POV back in and check. It could be as simple as needing new (thicker) lines or it could be some other compression issue.

My mechanic disconnected the security section because my key I use to start the car had the security spot on the key was loose and would not work in the ignition It was going to cost a lot for a new set of keys so he took the security section out for a lot less. As he said an older car does not need security.
Start with testing fuel pressure. Your fuel pump may be bad.
If fuel pressure is correct, have the computer scanned for trouble codes. Autozone (and other parts stores) will do code scans for free.
Purge valve won't cause this. Have the codes read. If you have been trying to get it started for awhile, the spark plugs are gas fouled. They need replaced.
The water pump itself should not cause such an issue. It is, after all, just a water pump. You aren't saying what size engine the vehicle has, so there will be differences between the 6 and 8 cylinder engines as far as configuration goes. My first impression would be that something was disconnected to get to the water pump and may not have been reconnected, or may have a bad connection. Check all the electrical plugs/connections in the area of the water pump. Look for any plug/socket that may not have anything attached to it.

Often times it is a simple fix. Low trans fluid is one of the first things I would check on.
Either a stick or auto low fluid will act up if the fluid is low.
Be sure and check it according to manual. Warm trans fluid and then check it while running and in park.
Hope this helps and is an easy fix.
if the signals work then the bulbs are good, as they use the same bulb. check the brake light switch under the dash at the bottom of the steering colume that the brake pedal pushes. using a test light one wire should have power all the time and the second wire should only have power when the pedal is pushed. if not then the switch is bad or out of adjustment.
first off make sure the battery connections are good and clean, then there is a solenoid on the fender by the battery ,these go bad you can test it by removing the little wire that slides over the small terminal and touch a screwdriver between this little terminal and the positive terminal next to it on the solenoid this will engage the starter motor,if it does then your solenoid is bad ,there are plenty of utube vidieos so u can see what im talking about if your not sure
