Where is the speed sensor located on the transmission on a 1998 Ford Explorer XLT 4.0 V6 engine?
polarcycle is right but there is a speed sensor on the drivers side top of the trans. toward the tail shaft or transfer case. there is as well a sensor inside the trans. itself that is mounted on the web. behind the overdrive band and drum.

where are the oxygen sensor locations on v6 4.0 f0rd explorer
one on each side front, one on each side back. 1-1 is right front...2-1 is right rear...1-2 is left front... 2-2 is left rear....o2 sensors are front, cat monitors are rear. btw if you have lean codes p0171,p0174 chances are the sensors are not the cause! lean mixture is the cause, which can be a multitude of causes.

1998 Ford Explorer V8 5.0L My a/c is cold when climate control is turned on Max. It then gets hot, then cold, then hot, etc. The system is properly charged with new Compressor, dryer, and inline filter. The heater door flap seem to be working fine. The climate control dash panel seems to be working fine. It seems to be electrical or a sensor. What can it be? What can I check?
Had the same problem on 98 Eddy Bauer we have. Have you noticed that it has a tendency to belch out hot air and the blower speed slows down mostly when you accelerate or give it a little more gas to climb a hill or an overpass or even pass somebody? If this is the case there is a pressure switch that's hooked into the intake manifold were it can sense a drop in pressure and when it does it drops the ac clutch out and slows the dash blower down till the pressure comes back up. JUMP IT OUT. All your problems will go away. Thats in there to unload the engine during acceleration and heavy loads and after the switch ages it gets trigger happy and lazy about closing to bring the ac back on.
