4.6 gas engine plug Gap ?

Hi Dean: Odds are really good that your local parts store (ie Canadian tire) will have a book with the make, model, engine size that will tell you the appropriate plug AND the correct gap. Even if you just want to reset your old plugs, the info would be available, AND FREE!!!

Why is oil coming out of 1997 crown Victoria tail pipe

Can be several things. None are good. Oil seals on valve stems are a potential problem. A bad head gasket can leak if the design has oil passages in the heads. The last reason would be oil rings on the pistons. There are some ways to test to determine which of these 3 problems it is. The tests can be done by a Mechanic and involve pressurizing the inside of the engine in different ways to see which part is at fault. About the only positive news is that there is a difference between removing 1 head and removing both heads. You only need to fix the side of the engine that is bad. The good side can stay sealed. There are products which plug oil leaks internally if the gasket is the problem and you may not need to tear apart the engine if the additive works.

Got into my 97 crown vick today crank it up depress break as always went to shift to reverse and it was locked into park try to no avail do you have any ideas whats wrong

Confirm that there is no debris hung up in any of the linkage (any where). If the ignition key locks the tranny shifter, then this can be your focus -- something has come apart at the key barrel (inside column. (if not) Then check the linkage that the brake disengages to allow the tranny linkage to be moved. (if not that) Check the tranny linkage to ensure all pcs are still in place and have clips in place.

No turn signals or emergency blinkers

Sounds like a multifunction switch, work the emergency flasher button up and down a few times, then attempt to work the turn signals if the signals work then you will need a multifunction switch.

I have a '97 4.6 ford crown vic. Only starts up

Most likely the Idle Air Control Motor, but you could have other issues suck as a leaking fuel pressure regulator, bad EGR valve, or massive vacuum leak.

I had a 1997 Ford Crown Victoria with An H9 rear axle code. I want to know what rear axle code is comparable to the H9 for a Mercury Grand Marquis?

reading forums on this reveals that the h9 is a 3.55 limited slip diff mainly used in f150 fords. However all that is immaterial as what you are looking for is a diff centre that is 3.55 ratio that will fit in your housing . The same housing will use the both LSD and normal diffs as the LSD was an option offered for off road vehicles or vehicles operating in bad road conditions

My 97 ford crown vic. engine will shut off when the ac is turned on what's happening?

With the engine off, key off, try to turn the front part of the AC compressor (not the pulley and belt, but the front part of the clutch). If it cannot be turned, the compressor is seized up and needs to be replaced. If it turns freely (there should be a little resistance, but turn easily by hand), the problem may be electrical- A short in the wiring, or defective engine ECU.

Why does 20 fuse plugged into 16 fuse hole spark and blow.

It is doing its job(blowing when there is more current flowing than there should be). What circuit is that fuse in? Whatever the load is(light switch, radio, etc) has an internal short or the wiring between the fuse and the load is shorted to ground. Also never replace the fuse with one that has a higher current rating. That's when you start melting wires and other things that you don't want to melt. Good luck!
