How can I loosen jammed/stuck speedometer gear in its housing?
Hello Dan,
The speedo drive has an o ring seal. The actual tolerances should not seize the unit in the case. You mentioned you "cut the cable". Is it ruined? Relieve any gear binding by placing the tranny in 1st gear and gently rock the car back and forth while pulling up and twisting on the cable. You may also want to gently tap the top of the drive gear with a brass drift first...carefully...light taps should help to unseat the parts.

How do I add trans fluid without removing speedometer cable?
if you don't have a dip stick then you don't
Ford at one time decided that only qualified ford service centers could add oil and made it so that the quantity of oil was pumped in while the engine was running
the reason was that it prevented contamination of the oil by back yard operators
ON some GM transmissions the same philosophy was adapted but there was a severe backlash from consumers
Go to an accredited auto transmission specialist shop and talk with them as too much oil is just as bad as not enough
get a proper diagnosis and a quote
there are ways around the problem but you need practical advice on how to do it

I need to find out if there is a fuse to the fuel
Fuse is under the hood. There is also a fuel pressure release valve on a hose that goes to your fuel injector. Press on the pin in the center to see if fuel sprays out. If it doesn't your fuel isn't under pressure and you probably need a new fuel pump.

Why is my ford festiva is misfiring
It could be a few different things. Bad plugs, bad plug wires, dirty rotor/distributor cap, or a vacuum line that isn't working properly to name a few to start with. I'm wrenching on a 91 Festiva right now as well... Let me know what you've come up with so far and I will see what I can do to help.

Ford festiva clutch cable adjustment
There are probably Manufacturers specs for this. But you want a little free play at the top to insure the pressure plate bearing is not loaded. An inch of play before resistance is felt should be good enough. When the clutch wears in later, you may need to adjust the cable to get the pedal higher off the floorboard.

Takeing off frount rotors
On some cars the rotors are held on by the wheels and a set screw-others by bolts-others are part of the hub. Remove the wheel and if you see a Philips head screw between the studs that is what you have got.
