is it an advance auto starter cause their electrical parts are known for that

I am wondering if the truck was in a wreck and was not properly repaired. Take a strong flashlight at night and shine it under the hood, moving it slowly around, and have someone else inside the truck looking to see if the light comes through under the dash. Also, shine the light under the truck. You can also put the light inside the truck and look outside. It is also possible a vent flap is stuck inside the heater allowing fresh air to come in, bit it sounds more like a hole somewhere, or more particularly, a rubber gasket or hole cover is missing on your firewall. The firewall is the metal panel between the engine and the inside of the truck. Be blessed.
