Is the fan mounting adaptor

Yes. There is a wrench made to remove the fan and it runs off of an air chisel. Most parts warehouses rent similar tools that can be used by hand. Quite a few of them require a deposit just to borrow the tool but you get your money back when returned. Hope that helps.

Alternator has been replaced. A diagnostic tests

these newer vehicles are sensed and controled by the ECU ,so they have an extra wire ,Now normally you start engine and take the neg battery terminal off and engine should keep running but these are different ,so fit an older alternator without the ECU controlled output where the alternator is battery sensed ,i have had this yet as most of my customers have older vehicles but is shouldnt be difficult to open the alternator and connect this sensing wire to somewhere else but as i said i havent had one yet to have a play with as i would soon find some way to make it charge but i havent seen where this wire runs too inside the alternator to work out how to by-pass it

What is a drag link and what does it do

The rgag link is part of the steering. It's the long bar that runs between the tires. It has the tie rods connected to them. The idler arm and pitman arm are also connected to it. The idler is the arm that is mounted to the frame and the pitman is the arm that is mounted to the gear box.

Replacing the axle would be the best thing to do. However you could build a new bracket and weld it back to the axle. But it is always possible that the weld will not hold. The axle housing is thick enough that you can get a good weld. But depending on how much confidence you have in your welding.
