Ballast resistor
Ballast resistors were used to reduce voltage across the contact points after start so the points didn't 'burn' so quickly. As there are no points in your engine, there is no ballast resistor.

Why do headlights turn off at random intervals?
Run a new ground wire to the lights and ground it direct to your engine. My car was doing this even the heater and lights and radio cut out once in a while . My mechanic spent several hours trying to find the answer and finally he said I am going to try something and he ran a new ground from the engine and wallah It worked. For some reason the existing ground was not working and it was grounded to the body. its self. He said maybe rust on the body would not let the power flow right.

Ignition issues
Trying to diagnose others work can be difficult but have done it many times. First I need to know basically at this point if you are getting power to the dark green & orange wire at each injector as well as the dark green and orange wire at the coil itself. If you have an ohm meter check to see if you are getttting continuity from that wire at the coil as to any of those wires (dark green and orange) at any of the injectors. Below is a picture of some relays under the hood. The one with the red arrow is the auto shutdown relay which will cause no power to all those dark green and orange wires. You may still have fuel prssure but this will shut down power to the injectors as well as power at that wire to the coil. The other relays that have the x out mark are needed but the one with the yellow arrow is the A/C clutch relay. I'm not 100 percent sure so check the numbers to see if they match. If they do swap those 2 out to see if it may be a relay issue. This is what I would start at first. Start from point "A" the basics (this test) and go on to the next step. There are fuse links as well but lets start here. Feel free to email me directly for any other tests if needed at
[email protected] and I will be happy to try and help. No there won't be a cost to you but do remind me of what's been done so far as well as the model and engine size. Hope it's something this simple for you...

Low, rough idle followed by
Symptoms don't sound too serious and you arent in any danger from driving it, you are however in risk of damaging your engine. It sounds like a cracked transmission or your alternator isnt producing enough electricity for your car. Either way you should go to a mechanic unless you can do it yourself.

Just bought a BWD speed
i had same problem same truck. the fix is do not use the bwd or any other aftermarket speed sensor!! they will all leak, dodge came out with the upgraded one with internal seals to stop this in late 1993,cause too many were leaking. the upgraded part# is 5013660aa,it has a white colored inside body your original is all black, that is why you have to change the little wir harness they give you. look this up will help you also (TSB 21-14-94).
this up grade was only done by dodge so all the aftermarket ones are junk.

The studs bolts that are screwed into the head are
You need a set of (easy outs) You need to drill a hole in the center of the bolt, insert easy out and carefully turn the easy out counterclockwise. It will bite into the bolt as you turn it If there is not enough room to drill you may try a centerpunch totap the bolt in reverse Hope this helps You can get easy outs at any place that sells tools

My gas gauge hasnt been
FUEL SENDING UNIT IN THE FUEL TANK FAULTY.THE FLOAT ARM ATTACH TO SENDING UNIT.THE FUEL SENDING IS A RHEOSTAT WITH ELECTRICAL CURRENT FLOWING TO IT.YOU HAVE A COIL OF RESISTANCE WIRE IN RHEOSTAT.WHEN FLOAT+ ARM RISE WHEN PUMPING MORE FUEL IN TANK THIS CAUSE MORE CURRENT FLOW THROUGH COIL FROM RHEOSTAT TO FUEL GAUGE WHICH CAUSE FUEL GAUGE MOVE TO FULL MARK.WHEN FUEL LEVEL DROP THE FLOAT + ARM DROP CAUSE LOW CURRENT THROUGH RHEOSTAT COIL WIRE IN WHICH CAUSE FUEL GAUGE NEEDLE TO DROP SHOWING LOW FUEL LEVEL IN THE FUEL TANK.

I have a 1993 dodge
are u sure the ignition switch is ok, sounds like that may be the problem, this is not the key cylinder but the switch near the bottom of the steering column that powers up the electrical system when you turn the key to on, see picture below, very cheap to replace (approx $20) and easy to R and R

[email protected] i did my best and i
Hi! It's definitely a PCM (powertrain control module) issue. I used to worked on one and the only cure was to have my PCM resetted. The PCM has connectivity on all electrical current that runs inside the car which includes the engine, transmission, etc... I strongly suggest that you have your PCM resetted and you'll be good. Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa!

Fuel will leak near the supply and return inlet
The last time I had this happen, o'riellys was called murrays. They sold a part specifically for this. It was a bent piece of line with narrowed end that was to be inserted and soldered or brazed into place.
Other than that you'll need a fuel sending unit.
