check under the distributor cap for a hall effect switch but also check the bottom of the rotor for a reluctor ring that might of broken off

First I suggest check vacuum leak there; additionally, try to scanned the ECU (computer) to know if you have some fault code stored there, note this and send us this info.

How do I reset the maint. req. light on my 1988 Dodge LE150 pickup?
Chrysler and Dodge models: 1988-92
When "SERVICE" appears on the Vehicle Maintenance Monitor, press the "RESET" button located directly below the monitor. "MONITOR" should then appear on the display.

Take the manifolds back a get the right ones. Or plug the holes permatex makes fillers good to 2,000 degrees F Back around 1970 I dropped silicone on my exhaust manifold it was still there a year later

Steps and pictures on replaceing front coil
Remove wheel,remove strut rod from lower A frame, remove nut on lower ball joint. put floor jack under A frame put a pri bar between ball joint and A frame,hit the steering knuckle with a small sledge hammer or use puller. remove shock lower A arm or raise truck to remove spring

Press heater zone buttons, doesn't change areas.
There are tubes connected to the back of the control unit that go to door actuators. Get a cheep had vacuum pump and hook it to each actuator and see if each door opens and the diaphragms inside are not leaking if they all work replace the control unit. If the doors have broken off and are laying in the bottom of the heating unit you need to replace the whole unit under dash. On extreme 4x4 or the show trucks they had a repair kit for dodge and chevy. The doors open and close just like a cheep plastic tool box with no hinges just a piece of thin plastic that bends back and forth till it breaks. The kit comes with metal hinges and new doors
