I have no front defrost on 2000 dodge intrepid. air only blows out of dash vents
my experience with this issue has always been the flap door behind the motor that creates the air flow, when the direction is changed to vent floor and or defogger the flap or door takes the pressure of the air flow and redirects it to the choice of your choosing such as vent floor and defog, this is my same issue to, and i need to probably take the dash down ERRRRR!!! i hope not and if anyone here might have the way to do this please let me know okay? that being how to find this door flap that redirects air flow thank you for that in advanced, i get great heat from the vents and that's a great thing, last year during a bad winter I had to invent a dashboard defog vent to front window rigg its easy if you can't fix this issue al you do is take a couple paper towel cardboard rolls when the paper is empty lol, and take about 3 of these, use a very small pointed sharp object to then poke many many holes into the cardboard roll. BUT NOT SO MANY THAT YOU WEEKEN THE STRUCTURE, just make enough, see as well to only make the holes point to the window area not all around the roll see? make the little holes clean and clear of any leftover paper from poking it see? so yes, clean out the holes. next take tape or CAPS from an empty gator aid container or any container that the lids fit on the rolls and put the caps on each end of the paper towel rolls, that's 6 caps or just use TAPE. I tried to make it look professional and not to ugly lol so I used caps. now that each paper towel roll is poked with many little holes and closed off at each end with tape or caps place them in the window to find the location of how you will put them basically just take a moment to think it through of how you will place them on the dash closest to the front window see? in my case i took each roll i had one on the far left one on the far right and one in the center, you will find this easy to match up with the vents as well, we are not done yet lol.. so now that you have an idea about how you will place these paper towel rolls unto the dash, I USED VELCROW STRIPS TO KEEP THEM FROM SLIPPING OR SLIDDING around. you will now need a vacuum hose or anything like that so it can bend and flex you need to now take those paper towel rolls and cut a nice hole in the center of each roll so that the hose will fit snug inside each hole, see? also use tape to go around that hose and hole with tape to seal it see? next take that container you took the lid from and cut it in half, you need three like that. these will fit over the vents with the lid end pointing outwards and that is where the hose connects, after that is assembled and secure to each vent with tape or more Velcro, you're ready to test your new invention I USED three of those large plastic containers of fruit punch from aldies cut those almost directly in half but not in half so much as closer to the lid end it was almost half but just enough to cover the vents and attach the hoses to the three of them and BANG i had a self-made defogger lmao.. I LOVE EVERYONE AND I HOPE IVE HELP EVERYONE. GOD BLESS YOU ALL
