Just put a brand new starter on a 84 chevy caprice I teyes to turn the key and there no power or anything to my car it has a new battery and new starter why is no power getting to the car period

You just don't have a power connection. Clean the cable ends at the battery and the starter and be sure they are tightened properly. Even a touch of power in the battery will at least turn the dash lights on. Just be sure your connections are clean.

1984 Chevy Caprice with a 305, new alt and batter, but battery isnt charging,,

Not enough information to answer. Need manufacturer, year, model, and engine size in order to answer the question. Without the above info, all I can say is that you may have a problem with a fuse or fusible link.

Head lights, door locks & inside lights quit working. brake lights & turn signals work. checked all fuses in box, all getting fire except tail lamp & accessories fuse. wat can i do

Sound to me like the ignition switch on the steering column, theres a rod from the key switch to the ignition switch which has four sections for various key positions, your sounds like the section that keeps power with the switch off lost connection or is burnt out, change the switch, they are cheap.

1981 oldsmobile delta 88.... I

Not to worry a fuse blew, delta 88 have fuseable links that are equipt in certain area there are some at the starter they blow open. There are some at the positive battery connection that controls dash and ignition switch, so the one we are going after is the ignition switch controls so when you turn the key on inside light goes on and door jam light goes on and better yet the key in ignition goes on. lets hunt that fuse down. First a fuseable link is a wire that allows heavy current to flow through it if it exceed the rated amperage it blows open 2 ways it opens youll see it seperated or you put your hand on it andtug it and it stretches because the wire seperated internally. So go to the positive of the battery are there link there do you see opens how about tugging anything stretched out. okay lets goe to the starter are they open or stretched if you find any open or stretch you need to replace it. now do you have a fuse box the one in the engine compartment is called a battery junction box look for fuses that went open.If everything is intact and looks good now lets go the the ignition area take a peek along the steering column. and turn the key see the rod that moves. as you turn the key that called a strut iginition rod. follow it it will lead to a juction that is called electrical ignition switch feel and move some of those with the key on and if you get power on(You will have to have the key on to do this) there you will find the problem. let me know

My battery to my 84

the voltage regulator is built into the alternator, have you check the alternator connector for damage or corrosion check with a test light for voltage at the red wire that plugs into the alternator that is in the 2 wire plug connector as well as check the large red wire for voltage as this wire is the feed wire from the battery.you don`t say if this is a new or used alternator.if you have a voltmeter that is the best way to check for the proper amount of voltage at the test sites.the battery must have a minimum of 12.6 volts to start with higher is better.to test the voltage regulator need the engine running and you need a voltmeter to tell properly if it is working.at the back of the alternator their is a hole that looks like the letter D this is where you use something like a cotterpin and insert it into the hole you should feel a tab, push lightly on the tab and ground the cotterpin to the side of the alternator using the voltmeter you should see the voltage start to rise and hear it start to charge.the battery voltage and the feed wire at the alternator as well as the smaller red wire at the plug connector should be the same.charging voltage should be about 14.5 volts.
