I found several Tech Bulletins about the many problems these have, but no recall. The joke is when the Chevy garage goes on a service call for a 2002 with flickering warning lights and no start they take Two switches with them. One for the vehicle they're servicing and the other for the truck they're driving. I hope this helps. Take care. If you have more questions for me use testimonial and it will show up in my email. Thanks

I'm not familiar with this engine,
But if it has a cog on the bottom of the distributor,
And not keyway,
Turn rotor anticlockwise about a inch back from your mark,
Then as you lower the distributor in you will notice the rotor turn clockwise a little,
A few trys should get it to line up fine,
Hope this helps you!

I have one question first how did you measure the fuel pressure at 45 psi it should be 66 psi .
I would take a good look at the in line fuel filter before I replaced anymore parts .
It should be on the frame rail some ware under the drivers door look for the lines from the pump

Spit and sputter can happen because of not enough fuel or air. last thing to check for fuel is the fuel pressure regulator. On the air side would be the the air filter(filthy) or catalytic converters(clogged). on the mechanical side, Could be bad rings, burnt valves. Compression test would find this.

The issue is usually loaded gears. The secret is to try circles, one way and then the other. This preload is why 4x4 is supposed to be used on loose surfaces....The gears will disengauge after they unload.

Check/clean the grounds below the drivers door attached to the frame. You may need to have the system data scanned with a proffessional scan tool to isolate the problem
