Truck will start first thing in the morning run
you must make sure the fuel is getting to motor, check the fuel preasure after it dies check preasure or try spraying starting fluid in throtlebody to see if it a fuel problem, if it doesnt start then check for spark at the plugs, the most common problems are fuelpumps or control modules going bad,
I'm looking for the fuel pump fuses
General answer is: Usually under the hood in Power Distribution Center by battery: Could be just a relay, or may be near battery on a black-covered thingy that has just enough room for a fuse or on the inner fender under hood and sometimes has to be pulled downward out of a plastic protector to see the fuse. Could also be under the dash to the left of the steering column with other fuses.
To test if is fuel pump - remove connector from pigtail going to such into the tank if is in tank and not around passenger wheel then do same - and test for voltage as someone turns the ignition key on and off. 3 wires is 1 negative ground for each the fuel pump and the fuel gauge variable resistance unit. A resistance is usually found between the gauge terminals and not for the pump or complete resistance -
A 12 volt positive can be placed (with fuse attached) inline from battery to test fuel pump. You have to cut the wire so it doesn't send voltage back into the system to the fuel pump relay.
If you have voltage to fuel pump at pigtail to fuel pump when you first turn on key, then may be Crank-shaft positioning sensor or timing belt broken, ECM (Computer) or simply a wire corroded and broken in between - start with pigtail connector going reverse from fuel pump into the body - this is the most exposed area.
May be cheaper to bring to garage and have them put on computer for 80 to 90.00 Canadian typically at Canadian Tire.
You can do the work yourself once they have determined the fault.
Good luck - hope I've given you direction rather than more questions.

Could be something as simple as a fuel filter or something more complex requiring a code scan (most larger parts stores do that free) and some further system diagnosis. I'd begin with the filter to avoid any "tail chasing"
Unless it was changed within the last few months, it's good maintenance anyway.
There are too many possibilities to give you a definite "fix" but I can give you a good start! If filter does not change the problem, check the mass air flow sensor, MAP sensor and the throttle position sensor. I said TEST not replace....too expensive to replace random parts! Flow sensor can be cleaned by using a q-tip and carb cleaner carefully on the wires that stretch across the inside bore of the unit.
My 1986 S10 will not start. It was running fine
check to make cretin you have spark, do you have gas, put a little in just in case your gas Gage is not working
if you have mechanical skills, check for fuel pressure at the fuel intake your fuel pump may not be working
this should help for starters good luck
Ran hot and stopped running and won
If the engine shut itself off when it was running hot, then you have done serious damage to your engine. It needs to be checked by a proper mechanic but at the least you have blown head gaskets but more likely warped or cracked heads. Sorry, but hope this helps.
Where is the oil filter located on '86 S10 blazer
Located on the drivers side, if you have a 4wd. You can access it through the wheel well but flipping up the splash guard up out of the way to reach in with your arm to remove it.
On the 2wd you can reach it by raising the front end up and crawling under the drivers side and you'll see the oil filter where the transmission and engine mates.
Thank you for suing fixya and good luck
1986 s10 blaser not pumping oil
If the oil gauge is not moving making you think it's the oil pump, change the oil sending unit, that will cause a no reading. If it still doesn't register, than the oil pump is bad.
I need help finding out what engine is in my
On the chevy small block v8 the numbers will be on the left side of the engine look for a small step right at the head / block mating area. The numbers will be in the form of a ser# get that number and call a good chevy dealer and they can tell what engine you got. But any small block chevy crate engine will be a 350 or a 305. they will act the same as far as tune up and any vacuum hoses to the carb or trans. They interchange of a sort.
1986 chevy S10 has no power (12v) at fuse box on
hello, check all fuses, and relays, make sure wires to ac is not broke or has been pinched, sometimes you can run hot wire from battery, to compressor, touch hot side of plug in on comp wire see if it will kick on, if so sounds like a short, if compressor dont kick on with hot wire run to it, tap the out side of comp clutch and see if it kicks on, these compressors will not kick on any way if they are low on freon, once freon is full it should work.
Need to know how to replace front studs
You might be able to get the studs out by removing the brake caliper and working thru that hole, if not you will have to remove the rotor. Working thru the caliper hole knock the studs out with a hammer, if you can get your hand or other tool in to remove the old stud, and insert the new one, use a nut of the proper thread, not the lug nut, to pull the stud into the rotor a little grease on the threads will be a big help here. Make sure the studs are fully seated by measuring the length of one of the old ones before you remove it and pull the new ones in untill the length matches. If you have to remove the rotor you will require a special tool to remove the locking nut from the rotor, but once the rotor is off use the same procedure to change the studs.
86 blazer turning over not starting how can i
Without tools, put very little fuel into a paper cup and pour it in the TBI (this is a throttle body engine?). If it 'Pops', there is a fuel problem, pump, clog, etc. Can you hear the pump run? It should run for a bit when the key is first turned on, then stop until the engine cranks. If not, check for a bad fuel pump relay, or bad pump. With tools, you would want to put a pressure gauge in the fuel line and check for pressure with the key on.
If no 'Pop', then the problem is likely no spark, which has a number of causes, the ignition module is a likely issue, but there can be a number of other computer related errors.
