86 s-10, 2.8 v6. Changed the distributor and
It would be easy enough if that was the firing order but it isn't. The firing order is1-6-5-4-3-2. The odd numbers are on the driver's side front to back and the even numbers on the passenger side. #1 on the distributor points to the front of the engine and the distributor turns clockwise. GO TO AUTO PARTS STORES THEY WILL HELP YOU FIND THE BRACKET KIT.

You may have to inspect the fuel lines. It will be best to check while the pump is priming. That is while the key is in the 'RUN' position.

Sounds like the ignition module is over heating, remove it and reapply some heat grease and reinstall it, if that doesn't stop the issue, replace it with a new one. (Make sure you apply the heat grease to the bottom of it)
I had a small wire fire in my 86 s10 blazer.
try tightening the bolt first i`ve had some that were just loose.there is a seal were it mounts to the block that may need to be replaced if tightening does not work.i don`t think you have to remove the motor mount but its been a while since i`ve done one.

These trucks are famous for the hydraulic master cylinder or the slave cylinder for the clutch to start leaking fluid out. When the fluid gets low it won't go in gear. Check the small resevor on the fire wall. Add dot 3 brake fluid if low. Be sure to pull the rubber cup out after taking the top off then add fluid if low.
Need vacum lines on carburator
there are 4 vacum lines one goes to ur tran and one goes to ur throt and one goes to ur brake buster and the other one just pluged off but check all niples that come off the carb

Your tranny may be gummed up. There are ball bearings inside it that move to cover different holes. One or more is probably stuck. Try some trans sealer and conditioner or a flush, just follow the directions on the label. They are about $6 to $20 at parts stores.

Fluid Changes are good and are done every
30,000 miles,not more than that on any vehicle
Fluid only cools and lubes,doesn't repair thing
if it slips,new fluid makes it worse
What you do is go to a trans shop and have
them check the cable adjustment from the
trans to the throttle.
And have them understand the issues and road
test with you in the truck
