Good Evening, a cost effective solution (free) is available at most of your local parts stores where they will check your battery and charging system for free (Which is where i would start) As far as your fob I would try replacing the batteries since some gm's have 2 in there and see how that works. Hope this helps, been there before and its not fun.
Thanks,
Joey

Either the power window motor is fried or there's a short/ground problem to it. Could have worn itself off the track also. Take off interior of door and check wiring and motor plus see if it's on the track.

Can you rebuild a fuse box in a 85 chevy silverado
Sure you can.
Just pull out those melted wires and use common blade connectors. They fit the fuses quite nicely. The only real difference you will see now is that the fuses arent locked in, but they push back into the same holes. Be prepared to have all colors of the female blade connectors handy since some clips have several wires connected to them and need more room for the wires.

I have a 1998 chevy
You have to stay with an older model 4L80e. Your computer won't communicate with your tranny and your check engine light will come on.

How much of a job
It is not that hard. But you will need some muscle cause they are heavy.Drain the transfer case first then just mark and remove the front and rear drive shafts and remove the bolts that hold the transfer case onto the transmission.Watch when you remove the last bolt because the case will swivel down on you.Remove the 2 bolts that hold down the rear trans.mount and use a floor jack to lift the trans up to get clearance to pull the transfer case. Some fluid will come out so be prepared to get it on you.Pry the transfer case away from the trans and here`s where you need the muscles.pull the transfer case back and up on the rear and go down in front and it should come out.Easier with 2 or 3 guys.A lot easier if you have a hoist.Hope this helps.Good luck and be safe.Let me know how you come out or if you have more questions.

Go to this page and find your exact model. Scroll down and you will see an exploded view of the inside of your case. The site is called drivetrain.com. From their home page scroll down the menu on left to Transfer Case Parts, click on that and it will take you to a page with MANY transfer cases, or just copy and paste the address I have inserted below.

My heater only works on
When you switch it to other settings, does it still run but only defrost or quit working all together? If only defrost on all settings, that means the flap inside the venting behind the control panel behind dash is stuck in place. Or the actuator and vacuum/electrical lines that move the flap are bad or have become disconnected or switch is bad.
Most likely cause is the flap being stuck, It sure is a bugger to get to, You have to go up under dash after everything is moved out of the way, then remove the housing for the vents, access the flap and try to move it free.

Cooling system is air bound,
Look for bleeder valves somewhere on the top of the cooling system. If you see any use them to remove trapped air. Start the engine and slowly turn the screw to remove trapped air. If there are no bleeder screws then remove the radiator cap from a cool engine. Make sure the radiator is full. Start the engine and watch for escaping air bubbles. Keep the radiator full at all times. When the engine reaches close to full operating temperature and you see no more air bubbles escaping put the cap back on. You may have to do this one more time if you experience any more trapped air in the system. Just make sure to look closely for bleeder valves. They will look like tire valves with a cap.
