I think the fuel pump is not working, do I have to
Yes the fuel tank has to come out to replace the fuel pump.Easier if tank is 1/4 tank or lower. Before doing this make sure that your getting power to the fuel pump.If not check the fuses and the connector for the fuel pump. You can check for power with a test light. It will be the gray wire.Light should come on when the key is turned on.Will only stay on for 2 or 3 seconds unless you crank it.Hope this helps.Good luck.
Lost power steering and power brakes. I checked
Not sure if these run off of the same fuse or relay but it is possible. Check and see if the fuse is blown, if that is fine then check the relay and make sure u can feel a clicking in it when the van is being set to the on position. If that is fine, I would sit it in a garage to warm it up just to make sure that any moisture that may have accumulated in the lines isn't frozen and causing a blockage.
I have a 2000 chevy astro and it runs but porly
i would check the spark plugs and distributor cap and rotor if equipped. If not, then check the spark plugs, and if worn, replace all six and fuel filter...and any other tune up parts....the stalling with the brakes applied could the be the hose running from the power brake booster to the intake manifold. If that hose is plugged, it too will cause the rough running and stalling...however your van may have a hydra boost and that hose will not exist...in that case, spark plugs might be so worn out that its in such dire need of a tune up, the engine cannot keep up and stalls out everytime you hit the brakes.....okay? good luck
My brake, hazard and turn lights dont work, i
well u have two seprate problems the hazards and turn signals have a flasher that needs replacing if the fuse is good on the fuse box marked signals .and there is a brake light switch under the dash board near the brake pedal it has two wires on it check the wires make sure they are connected if so replace the brake light switch
How do you replace alternator in 2002 chevy astro
theres a bolt in the back, hard to get to and impossible to see. If i remember right its a 13mm headed bolt, I get to them with a 13mm wobble headed gear wrench. It's in the bracket for the heater hoses. Keep feeling around you'll find it. Also most people leave them out when the change it, you may not have one back there but it sounds like you do because it's not moving. You need to wiggle it back and forth to get it to release from the backet, I ussally use a small flat headed screw driver or a small prybar to get them up and out.
