How do i reinstall a battery in a 2001 chevy lumina? there is a wedge of some type i don't know where it goes
1. Place the battery in the car so that the red cable is closest to the positive (+) post and that the black is closest to the negative or (-) post.2. once the battery direction is determined, the wedge can be put in place. The wedge normally fastens to the bottom battery tray and at the same time sets along side of or in a small recess cutout in the lower part of the battery. There should be a bolt or nut that fastens the wedge to the battery tray and allows one parts of the wedge to hold the battery at the same time. Place the wedge on the battery where it is to hold the battery and then tighten the nut/bolt down which should hold the battery down tight. Sometimes the nut or bolt used to hold the wedge down will get rusty and needs to be sprayed with a rust penetrant like "pb blaster". PB blaster can be purchased at most auto part stores and walmart.
My cruise control on my 2008 chevy pickup stopped
after reading every post on every forum about the cruise control, I decided to pull the brake switch off of the pedal and have a look. I read somewhere that there is a spring loaded mechanism inside the switch that goes bad and makes the cruise think the brake is engaged. Upon inspecting the switch I saw a flat white bar that the brake rod depresses that engages the mechanism inside the switch. So like I always do... I sprayed the white swtch bar with wd 40 and worked it with a screw driver by pushing it and realeasing it until I heard it make a solid sounding click as it engaged and disengaged. I reinstalled the brake switch and all is well. Seems a little dust has clabbered the lubricant and was causing it to stick. So all is good and my cheap @ss didnt spend a dime. Total time including research was 1.5 hours. Hope this helps someone else
Car would crank but want start
You have severely overheated the engine and most likely have a blown head gasket and other damage. Take it to a shop and have the engine repaired or replaced.
