Go down to the local parts store and purchase a New Ignition key, Remove the old key cylinder and install the new one. This isn't really all that easy to replace. It must be drilled out to a point where you can get it to turn like you are starting the vehicle to get the pin to release and let the cylinder slide out of the steering column lightly blow and wipe this cylinder hole out till it clean with no drill shavings in it. Install the new key cylinder. Hope this helps Had to do this on Vacation in Biloxi, Miss. I'm from Texas with very little tools and I didn't have the $350 they wanted to make another key either.
2000 chevy astro wheel bearings
I would suggest lifting the front end off the ground and spin the wheel. See where it occurs. Once you find that...move it past that point by hand and see if you feel the 'dragging/growling' or whatever type of sound. Next...pull the lifted wheel towards you...is there any play? If so... you probably have a bad or damaged wheel bearing. If you have to replace it...replace them both.

Need dlc wiring diagram
Ok first off if you can wire a multi pin plug to go to your vehicles pcm you should be more than capable to figure this out. How did you determine the other 14 pins? Why is your obd port not There? If it was removed , why? If you have a multi meter use that, if you don't have one or know how to use it I think you should stop now because you can damage the pcm to your vehicle. Just static electricity to the components can damage them beyond repair.
Are you hard wiring right to the pcm or is the connector still there? If so and you are doing this just line up the new leads to the corresponding pin. Use the same connector.
New OBD2 port
first are the wires there i dont expect a person the rip out an obd port and all its wires --second why after 11 years are you putting one in --buy a chilton / hanyes repair manual in the back has the wiring diagrams
2000 Chevy Astro, 136K, lopes,
My 2000 safari van ran similar to what you describe but it was my fuel pump. In your case I just wonder if you could have gotten some gas with water in it.. Could be issue with injectors. If you have check engine light have the codes checked. Most auto part stores where I live will check them for free. You can put your codes and vehicle on a google search and many time you can find out what other people have done to fix similar problems.
Found this link which vacuum line caused some of the issues you describe.

How do I stop the grinding when starting 2000 Astro Van
Hello Anonymous...
To inspect the teeth on the ring gear requires the inspection to check the full 360 degrees of the ring gear. Looking past the inspection cover to examine a small portion of the ring gear may reveal no issues, but only for that section. Eventually the ring gear will end up positioned above the starter drive gear which will skip across the bad teeth creating your grinding noise when you try and start the Astro,.
