If you have a 3,1 motor, there's a very good chance your lower intake manifold gasket is allowing coolant into cylinder 1 and keeping it from firing. Number 1 is right next to a coolant port, ant the 3.1/3,4's are very well known for intake gasket failure.

If your vehicle is equipped with a 3.1L engine there is a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) number; 00-06-94-005 written on January, 2000...That addresses a cold start issue...It reprograms the PCM which solves the problem...If your vehicle has a 3.1L (do not know what engine is in the car) and this has already been performed a sticker with the TSB number will be fixed to the inside drivers door...If it has not been performed it is the solution...If your car does not have a 3.1L...Send a comment...Guru..Saailer I’m happy to help further over the phone at

a first course of action, I strongly suggest that you remove the
positive battery connector and let it sit for at least 5mins. before
reconnecting it. This will reset the system and can get your vehicle
back to it's normal operation.

You need to get the eingne codes read first . It sounds like you may have some kind of electrical issue with the daytime running lights . However it may or may not be related to that . The first thing you need to do is get the codes read . Most auto parts stores will do this for free if you don't have a code reader . Find out why the engine light is on it likely solve the problem by replaceing a sensor or simple electrical part . Don't geuss at this find out and you will save a lot of money most problems are related you find the right thing and all of the problems go away . But you need the engine codes first

There are a few different things that you could check. You could have a bad throttle control sensor, or you could have a bad fuel pressure control module. Then there is always the possibility that you may have a vacuum leak. I hope this helps.
