More then one modular ? Module ! Ignition module ? Which engine ? 2.2 L or 4.3 L

2.2 L has no dist. The electronic ignition (EI) system does not use the conventional distributor and coil.

4.3 L Enhanced Ignition System (Overview)
The ignition system initiates combustion by providing a spark to ignite the compressed air and fuel mixture at the correct time. In order to provide an improved engine performance, fuel economy, and control of exhaust emissions, the control module controls the distributor spark advance, or timing, with the ignition control (IC) system.
The ignition system uses a primary and secondary sub system in order to accomplish the timed spark distribution. The primary system consists of a low voltage trigger device which determines the base timing. This signal is modified by the ignition control driver (ICD) module. The signal travels to either or both the engine and transmission processor (control module) for base timing reference. Another signal is sent back to the ignition control driver (ICD) module, which has been adjusted by the control module (advanced or retarded) in order to trigger the coil, according to the requirements of the engine.
The secondary system consists of the ignition coil which has primary, or low voltage, windings and secondary, or high voltage, windings. The secondary side of the ignition coil generates a high voltage which high tension spark plug wires deliver to the spark plugs.
The control module controller now controls the ignition control (IC) and bypass functions.
In order to properly control the ignition and combustion timing, the control module needs to know the following things:
• The crankshaft position
• The engine speed or RPM
• The engine load -- manifold pressure or vacuum
• The atmospheric or barometric pressure
• The engine coolant temperature
• The camshaft position sensor

No module in the distributor

The travel limits on the shift linkage at the transmission is adjustable. The nylon bushings on the pivot points may be worn too. Have a mechanic inspect the linkage for any abnormal wear on the bushings or the linkage itself. Renew the bushings before you try adjusting the linkage.

Sandra, You probably will not get code from computer as it may not be hooked up to an engine running a carburetor in a 1996 Blazer. Carbureted engines were not installed in 1996 Blazers. Could be a lot of things, choke sticking/faulty,dirty carb, not set properly, bad plugs/wires, fuel filter/pump, faulty distributor/cap/rotor/electronics,vacuum leak, etc.
Best to have a good tech. have a look and estimate repair.

did you run the check engine light code? most car parts chains will check for free. it can be worn spark plug, bad spark plug wire, cap& rotor, worn rings fouling plug, valve seal leaking ect. i would run codes first, see what it says and help to isolate issue.

Usually marked on the fuse panel cover. If the fuel pump is dead, you may be able to wake it up, maybe. As some one tries to start it, other person needs to hit(rubber mallet) the fuel tank in the center of it. This jars the pump and sometimes they will start pumping again. But it still needs replaced. You can use a hammer, just don't hit so hard you dent the tank or worse, put a hole in it.

The fuel neck is attached to the fuel tank using a hose connection and clamps. The other end where the fuel enters is attached to the body using small bolts. You will have to look up inside the panel area to see these bolts. The fuel neck may be extremely diffucult to loosen/remove from the hose connection at the tank as years of weather/elements will cause the hose connecting the two to become hard and will not want to come apart. Although a fairly simple repair, there will be a moderate level of diffuculty seperating the old filler pipe to install a new one

Like Kristisamp Said check the Fuel pump relays, they are little black box shaped fuses in the glove box, there are 3 of them, I think there may be a cover over them so you can see it......
Take the cover off and there you go......
I have a 96 blazer 2 door that had the same problem, I repalced thes relays and Bam!!! fired right up........

freeze plugs will be located towards bottom of the engine. It could be the water pump, or a bad hose.
