Check the idle air control on the throttle body it is on when the engine is first started stays on until the engine is warmed up.

time for a full tune up? plugs, fuel system cleaning, fuel filter, air filter. (is main battery holding charge from alternator? Is alternator producing charge for battery?) Or check the fuel pump and fuel filter.

Is the shift lever going threw all the gears? If not, it could be the shift linkage or the shift gate.

Output shaft is generally a different lenght on the 2wd vs the 4wd.

You simply remove the old ones and make sure the new ones are gapped to the proper setting and install them.

Did you try to get any DTC codes from the ECM. If not here is the procedure to retrieving the DTC codes. http://www.troublecodes.net/GM/ Check the fuses, make sure there all good. hope you find a DTC code which would help us find out what is wrong with the suburban quicker. Probably bad ignition coil if it starts when cold but not when it's warm

Hello,In those early years of the new body style the high beems are your day time driving lights also,, check for a relay instead of fuse,may need to change switch,i had to in my 97 with that problem..good luck..
