4x4 would not engauge but the lights on the switch would change now no lights no nuthing changed out switch and still nothing

better have the transfer case inspected, could be low on grease or in need of maintenance

Fuse box diagram

If something quits in your car and you suspect a blown fuse, you can find it by pulling out each fuse one by one. Don't mix them up, replace each one as you go, across the top or down the sides, make sure to look at each one. You may even find you have more than one blown fuse! Don't worry about your intended location, checking them all this way will take less than a minute of time. If you have some needle-nose plyers, they work very well, most times you can use your fingers. Cause This condition may be caused by a false reading during off-road driving or in high slush conditions. Correction Do This - Reprogram the HVAC control module. Don't Do This - Do not replace the coolant level sensor, HVAC control module or radiator surge tank. A revised calibration has been developed to address this condition. Technicians are to reprogram the Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) control module with the latest software available on TIS2WEB. remove the drive shaft then remove the brake hoses and e brake cables remove the breather hose then remove the bolts at the springs or links which ever it has

Wrong-89 chevy 4x4 not 2002 odb1 code please explain what is is and where it is I can not locate on the web or in the book code #52 thanks

Here's what code 52 says: engine oil temperature circuit, low temperature indicated. An oil temperature sensor? Didn't know an '89 would have such a sensor, but that is the code.

That sounds to me like a shaft that connects to it is out of balance. Therefore the seals are getting worn out too soon.

No the transfer case fluid is separate from the transmission. Transmission has entered hot mode check for restricted oil cooler. This can be easily diagnosed with a scan tool that can read transmission data.
