Right and left brake lights only work when you wiggle the turn signal switch. The middle one in the window works. I want to wire the right and left brake lights to the middle one to bypass the turn signal switch. I need a wiring brake lights diagram for a 97 chevy lumina
why not just replace the turn signal switch must faster and safer . buy one from your local parts house then you can see its not that easy to install but you can do it with a little help

fuse box location for 1997 chevrolet lumina that controls signal switch on steering colum
If its like my 1999 Lumina, its on the end of the dash on passenger side. Open pass. side front door, look at the end of the dash & you should see a little door that says "FUSES" on it. Grab the tab at the bottom of the little door & pull out. And Ta da, there they are!

I AM TRYING TO REPLACE MY STARTER ON A 1997 CHEV LUMINA 3.1 V6. I NEED A DIAGRAM OF THE STARTER
Hello Larry...Here are the steps to take. Detach the ground (black) battery cable. Lift the front of your vehicle with a floor jack, support it with jack stands and chock the rear wheels.
Unfasten the retaining nuts holding the heavy (battery) cable and the thin wire to the back of the starter solenoid (the small cylinder mounted on top of the starter motor) with a wrench. Move the heavy and thin wires out of the way.
Loosen the two mounting bolts holding the starter motor to the engine block with a ratchet, large ratchet extension and socket. Hold the motor assembly with one hand and finish removing the two starter mounting bolts. Make a note of the position of each mounting bolt, since they are of different sizes, and of any shims located between the starter motor, mounting bolts and engine block.
Remove the starter motor from the vehicle
To Install:
Position the new starter motor in place with one hand and install the two mounting bolts finger tight with your free hand, along with any shims installed with the original starter. Failing to replace the shims may cause the starter to grind against the flywheel or engage and fail to start the engine
Tighten the two mounting bolts with the ratchet, extension & socket.
Install the heavy cable and wire in their respective mounting studs at the back of the starter solenoid and install the retaining nuts finger tight. Tighten the nuts with the wrench; (careful not to overtighten)
Lower your vehicle off the jack stands...Attach the ground (black) battery cable.
There you have it, included is a picture of the starter, good luck, i hope this helps.

im changing my gas tank because its leaking gas and the straps that hold the tank on wont come loose because the bolts are rusty, and turning with the nut on the inside of the framing.
you will need to cut them off then after the tank is out of the way you can take the nut side off

Vauxhall Astra Auto car has fault code P1985 and is running in safe mode but struggling to drive what does the fault code mean is this some thing i can fix myself
P1895 Engine control module (ECM), actual torque signal - circuit malfunctio
Sell this motor quick ,these are nice cars but suffer for these problems because the computer is bolted to the inlet manifold and gets too hot then cooks ,all these petrol engines from around this time suffer from this fault

There is a knocking noise coming from the fuel tank area. It's non rhythmic and it happens when the engine is turned off.
sounds like your vent is plugged up or broken, so when you drive you create a vacuum and the fuel tank is being pulled in, thus the banging I just had a car with this issue, and I had to pull the tank out of the car and had to the show the customer before he would believe me, but seeing IS believing as they say. When you shut off the engine the vacuum decays and thus the tank reverses its process. Try driving your car with the fuel cap off and see if the noise goes away. That will prove it!
(also)- small leak in the tank
and finally try changing the gas cap itself
let me know
thanks

The gas tank is now leaking as well. there is a intermediate knocking noise coming from the fuel tank area. It happens after ther car has been driven. There is no rhythm to the knocking either.there is a intermediate knocking noise coming from the fuel tank area. It happens after ther car has been driven. There is no rhythm to the knocking either.

The radiator is full of coolant but the low coolant light stays on
In most newer chevys, the coolant reservoir is part of the pressurized system. Rather than just holding overflow coolant and relying on the radiator pressure cap to draw from and expel to the reservoir, it is an active part of the cooling system. On these systems, there is a coolant level switch in the reservoir. This will activate if the level in the reservoir gets below a certain point. So it is possible to have a full radiator and still get a low coolant light. Be advised that as the reservoir ages and get stained, it is not uncommon for the low coolant sensor to give false indications of low coolant.
