Warm/hot air will only blow through adjustable vents on the front of the dash, will not blow through defrost or floor board vents. However, cold air (from air conditioner) will blow through all vents - including upper dash defrost vent.
Thank you i can not get hot air flow out of my defrost vents. it blows out all the others.

where is the cam position sensor on a 1997 chevy 5.7L
Posted by witu123 on
The camshaft position sensor (also known as the distributor pickup) is inside the distributor which is driven by the camshaft gear and directly below the water pump, the water pump must be removed to access the distributor to change the sensor. Here is a picture of the camshaft position sensor.

How to fix p1345 obd code on 97 chevy 1500 5.7 Lt.
Posted by juantukin on
P1345 is "Crankshaft position sensor / Camshaft position sensor correlation"
Code P1345 determines if the distributor is installed incorrectly, or if a mechanical malfunction is present in the engine. The light will trigger when the engine is running and the camshaft sensor reference pulse is not detected at a correct relative position with the crankshaft pulse. Most likely causes for this Chevy check engine light code include a faulty crankshaft position sensor, a wiring concern or an improperly installed distributor. A quick check on the crankshaft sensor is to monitor the RPM value with a scan tool while revving up the engine. If the reading is close to twice the expected RPM, then the sensor is likely faulty. There are other less likely concerns possible, such as base engine or computer related issues, but these involve more in depth testing. I hope this information is useful.

I had to replace the battery in my 1997 Cheve pickup. It had a after market vehicle alarm in it when I bought it. I had to replace the vehicle battery. I have done this before and been able to reset it. This time though alarm will not reset and truck will not start till it is reset. Does any one have any suggestions as to how I can over ride it or reset it. Best iI can tell it is a Kelsey and Hayes alarm.

Is there 2 options to replace the Battery in your vehicle.
If you Don't have the REMOTE CONTROL.
1-- try to locate the VALET Switch. is used to activate and deactivate the Alarm.
Normally is located Near the Fuse box panel Inside of the car.
and some times on Left kick panel.
If you found the switch. Connect the new Battery and go inside of the car Turn the Key to ON position and Push ( Move the lever up or down) of the VALET switch.
Them try to start.
2-- Just With the BATTERY disconnected .
Go inside of the car And turn the Ignition Key to ON position leave it.
Now connect the Battery and the Alrm will NOT activate.
Go inside and try to start.
And Letme know.
I hope this help on your problem.
Thank you for use fixya...

engine idles rough but runs good at normal operating conditions. Replaced egr valve and found a vaccun line connector on sensor(?) on passenger side, top, front of engine w/o a hose connected to it. Sensor is directly under the air intake housing on top of the valve cover. Also found bad hose on vaccum sensor(?) on firewall, passenger side, under a/c canister.

I have a 1997 Chevy Silverado 1500 Z71. My wheel cylinder went bad so I replaced it. Still my brake pedal fell to the floor. So I then replaced my master cylinder did the bench bleed and bled all of my brakes. Still nothing. Brake pedal still falls to the floor. What is the next possible thing that could be wrong. The ABS? The Power Booster? The Vacuum? Please Help.
