1997 chevy k1500 wont start
New pump and filter replaced....I would check out the injectors to make sure they are not clogged...I have a 94 z 71 and had to rebuild entire throttle body..I know it's a diff yr model but troubleshooting is same direction...also have the fuel pressure regulator checked for any problems

THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN SEEN WITH A BAD MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR AND OVER OILED K&N FILTERS CAUSING MAF SENSOR PROBLEMS. TRY CLEANING MAF WITH MAF CLEANING SOLVENT AND LET IT DRY BEFORE REINSTALLING. HOPE THIS HELPS

Instaling camshaft senser 97 5.7 vortex motor
its in the distributor remove the cap and rotor unplug the connector bump the engine untill the window or slit lines up with the sensor remove the 2 torx screws and install in reverse order
97 chevy k1500 will not engage 4wd
Same thing happened in my 97 K1500 pickup. Turned out to be the 4wd actuator on the front axle was bad. Went to the junkyard and picked one up for $50. Just make sure you bring the old one with you so they can match it up exactly.(There's 3 or 4 styles out there for this year grouping of trucks.) Make sure the plugs match exactly.

Good chance it's the resistor . Will be in circuit between switch and blower, usual locations are on ducting under dash on passenger side, or behind glove box. Locate wires coming from blower motor, and follow them back to resistor.
