Loud noise coming from the exhaust
You should try inspecting the exhaust from the underside of the vehicle.Typically if the exhaust has become very loud, then there is a likelihood that either one of the pipes has corroded through or cracked, or that one of the muffler boxes has failed. To check the muffler box in the case that there is no apparent exterior fault such as corrosion or cracks, then with a cool exhaust or protected hands, shake the exhaust or hit it with your palm under the muffler box. If you can hear a clunking, or lots of loose rust inside the box, then it has likely failed from the inside first. Exhaust systems generally corrode from the inside out as water is a product of combustion and tends to condense inside the exhaust system. If you are wondering how long an exhaust system should last, then this is a tough thing to measure. However as water presence is one of the main reasons for exhaust failure, it is common that vehicles which travel extended distances where the engine and exhaust systems can heat up to full operational temperature tend to suffer less corrosion in the exhaust system. This is because the matter of condensation of exhaust gasses is largely prohibited by higher exhaust temperature. One last thing for you to check is the condition and fit of the exhaust headers or manifold. If you have suffered a gasket failure, or crack in this area, then you will pick up on a higher volume of exhaust noise output.Good luck.
Buick regal 92 3.8L Horrible fuel mileage
Sounds like you might have an oxygen sensor problem. Your catalytic converter(s) maybe defective or dirty. That in turn can dirty up the oxygen sensor. A defective oxygen sensor will send faulty info to the computer, interpreting the fumes as cold (even when the engine warms up). That causes the computer to adjust the fuel mixture to very rich, giving you poor gas mileage and the fuel smell. Hope it helps.
Troubleshooting no spark
What have you looked at so far? What have you replaced or tested? How did you confirm that you have no spark? No spark on these engines could be a bad coil, ignition control module, cap and rotor, or pick up coil. When was the last complete tune-up performed? I hope this helps you but if you have anymore questions, please write back. Good luck.
Front driver side suspension knock over bumps
See if you can bounce car and replicate the noise. If you can, you should be able to find it, and put your hand on it. Stabilizer bushing are a place to look, both at the lower a arm and on the frame. If you narrow it down to the strut, it will need to be replaced. The front trans mount also goes bad, try putting it in drive with your foot on the brake and give it some gas and see if the engine moves an excessive amount.
