No brake lights-the turn signal, four way flashers

Cruise control is suppose to cancel when brakes are applied.

Did you try just changing the bulbs?

If its not the bulbs I would have to say check the brake light switch at the pedal, it is a different switch than the cruise control cut out switch. Btw, I’m available to help over the phone in case u need at https://www.6ya.com/expert/sean_54c3a3dc48a7773c

1996 Suburban, after changing the Fule Pump Module

The fuel pump module may not be bad. If you hear whirr that is good. Did you change both of the filters, the one on the fuel pump and the external filter (the one along the frame of the trunk). Also did you clean out the tank? If you did all that the next step would most likly point to fuel injectors.

Won't start.

Do you have spark?
Put one of the old plugs in a spark plug wire and crank her over.
Make sure the plug is grounded.
Any spark?
Most likely the ignition module.
Next would be the crank sensor.......or dist pickup.

Yes to spark?
Put a little gas down the throttle body.......and see if it starts on that.

Yes to a start then dies out?
No fuel.
Most likely the fuel pump in the tank.
Turn the key off for at least 10 seconds.
Have someone listen closely at the tank........now turn the key only to run position....you should hear a prime cycle whirrrrr for about 1 or 2 seconds.
No noise? means....no working pump.
Check all fuses........but it will most likely be first....fuel pump.....second....fuel pump relay....third....no power to the fuel system.
Yes to whirrrr.........then it's ......no fuel injectors are opening if you have fuel injection.
