run fault codes and if the are no faults from air /vacuum problems with the manifold then I would not touch it. If you have to remove the manifold for some reason then always fit a new gasket.

REPEAT STEP AT LEAST 4 TIMES!!!SWITCH IGNITION OFF AND ON.U NOW HAVE THE COMFORT BACK!!!!LET ME KNOW IF U STILL HAVE ANY PROBLEMS!!

Remote Control Programming (1997 ON)
Procedure
1. Switch Ignition ON and leave the key in the ignition.
2. Mechanically lock the vehicle using the Drivers door using a second
key.
3. Using the remote control press the Unlock button once, and the horn
will sound once.
4. Wait 6 seconds and press the unlock button once to activate the coding
procedure. The remote control will now be programmed.
NOTE : When performing programming on additional remotes the procedure
is the same, except you press the unlock button 2, 3 or 4 times for the
different remote.
For example : If programming 2 remotes press the unlock button twice with
a 1 second interval between each press, repeat for 3 and 4 remotes.
5. Switch Ignition OFF.
6. Remove key from ignition and check for operation.
7. The coding procedure can be repeated up to 4 times for additional remotes.
8. The ignition must be switched OFF between programming each remote
control.
Remote Control Erasing (1997 ON)
Procedure
1. Switch Ignition ON and leave the key in the ignition.
2. Mechanically lock the vehicle using the Drivers door using a second
key.
3. Press the remote control unlock button 5 times in 1 second intervals.
A short horn will sound.
4. Wait 6 seconds and press the unlock button once to activate memory
erase.
5. Switch ignition OFF, all remotes are now erased.

If the coolant level is the problem, the engine would be getting hot. If it is getting hot, add coolant and check for leaks. Use your owners manual maintenance chapter.
if the engine is not getting hot, the thermostat is stuck open. If your husband cannot find the thermostat by himself, I recommend you go to a shop. You have to be a good mechanic to replace a thermostat properly.
Roof problem
Hi Mps75200.When you lower your top down make sure it is all the way down before releasing the button. This would cause the buzzer to go off. There is a secondary motor that pulls the top down another 1-2 inches after the top appears to have stopped moving to lock it in place. Hope this helps.
My trunk won't open on my 2005 Beetle Turbo
Check inside the trunk, there should be a switch. It MAY be the switch is set not to open by remote. Once flipping the switch, it should work fine.

Where is the transmission code located on the car?
The code letters on an automatic transaxle are on a metal plate near where the transaxle butts up against the engine. The stamped transaxle type is in the metal of the housing, away from the engine and closer to the front wheel. Both the code letters and tight become visible by your raising the vehicle up onto jack stands and viewing from underneath.
