Truck will start but no power in cab
You need to check the power schematic to see what feeds what and act accordingly. U might also want to check the fuses and relays for the affected area(s).
My 1984 gmc with a carborated 350 starts runs and
it could be a fuel blockage or it could be that the main running jets in the carby are blocked you may have to remove the carby & strip it down & blow it out with compressed air, but check for a fuel blockage first........hope this helps......cheers.
My 350c will not shift into overdrive
This is not an"overdrive" transmission, but it does have a locking torque converter. That makes it feel like fourth shift at times. Now for the problem:the converter clutch is powered thru the brake switch to a vacuum sensor (on the firewall about 11o'clock behind the brake booster) then to the trans.Check the vacuum hose to the sensor, they get dry and crack up there and near the carb.
You can verify the function of your lock up by jumping the wires at the sensor, but it will lock as soon as you hit 3rd gear regardless of speed. If you tap the brake pedal it should unlock briefly, then re engage.Good luck
I just replaced my starter but it makes an ugly
Hello,
There are a couple things that can make starters noisy. Check the flywheel teeth for worn or damaged teeth. Next check the nose cone bushing on the starter. Alot of remanufacturing plants or Shops don't replace bushings. I have encountered this many times and it's fairly easy to do. The nose cone is the aluminum end ov the starter. you remove the solenoid and the two bolts at the back of the starter and the nose cone will come off.once it is off look at the very end of the nose cone and notice the bushing if worn will be oblong in shape. A new repair kit is less than $20.00 from auto zone and includes bushings and brushes and bendix gear.
I know cause I just used one of their kits to rebuild my starter.

How do you take off the front brakes of an 84 GMC
YES FIRST THING IS TAKE THE WHEELS OFF THE TRUCK.. YOU WILL SEE THE PADS AND CALPIER, THERE ARE TWO BOLTS HOLDING THE CALIPER ONE, TAKE THE TWO BOLTS OUT,PULL THE CALIPER OFF AND REPLACE THE PADS.. YOU WILL NEED A C CLAMP TO PUSH THE CALIPER PISTON BACK IN THE CALIPER, ONCE YOU PUSH PISTON BACK IN CALIPER PUT PADS ON AND REPLACE THE CALIPER BACK ON THE BRACKET YOU TOOK IT OFF OF.. TIGHTEN EVERYTHING BACK UP, AND PUT YOU WHEEL BACK ON.. DO THE SAME THING ON THE OTHER SIDE..GOOD LUCK AND THANKS FOR USING FIXYA.COM..KEITH..

Trouble Code p0122
Hi, P0122 code i think reads as "low input" on the fault text, if thats so, the fault is most likely with the wiring to/from the tps, low input codes would usually relate to a short on the wiring so check for any chaffing or corrosion on wires and multiplug connectors, ideally you need to check voltages at the tps connector.
