If you're finding it difficult to service/repair your car, get one of those online manuals. You'll not have to wait for others to answer, or rely on
mechanics and all. Plus I know a website that has very good manuals online, without expiry i.e. for lifetime.

I'm not sure if I understand you correctly. Does the air conditioning works properly it's just the sound problem and did it happens suddenly?
For the strange sound, it could be normal and not.
I imagine the sound comes from the exchange pressure between the low pressure and high pressure.
To fix or knowing what is wrong you will have to get AC/pressure gauge install on AC/pressure tap under the hood and sync the compressor engaging clutch if it happens at the same time that the sound you are talking about.
Pretty hard to tell online without earing it. But I ever listen to a sound similar to that.

hope it helps

GM had bad stepper motors inside the instrument cluster,2003 to 2006 . These stepper motors control the gauge needles . Sounds like you have a few different problems . Instrument cluster has nothing to do with the A/C , radio , windows , locks . One possibility mite be that they all share a common ground . Do you know what wiring diagrams are ? How to read an use one ,along with a DVOM - digital volt ohm meter to test automotive electrical circuit's ?

If it will run in 2wd or 4H, you should be fine. May be just a solenoid in the transmission.

Hello Les, I suggest you install an auxiliary oil pressure gauge to measure the actual oil pressure. Did you inspect the oil pick up tube screen for debris that might restrict the oil from getting to the oil pump? Did you install an oil pump mounting gasket or o-ring if it requires one?

if it shifts easily when engine is off and is hard to shift when running you could have a bad pilot bearing, making the input shaft still spin even with clutch applied

im not certain, but i believe that the gauges are electronic. and when you were working on the radio you may have accidentally touched the wrong wires together shorting out the console. i would check the fuse cor the console.
