The shifting problem is probably because of the dead speedometer.Have you checked the fuses in the engine compartment, and the main harness connectors ?

GM dos not use a fuel pump cutoff switch.

It is in the distributor under the cap and rotor.

Order some high power xeon/halogen bulbs off ebay, they made a world of difference on my CBR 600 and aren't that expensive.

Since you said coils, I will assume you have a 4 cyl engine. The V6 models use a distributor.The pink wire which powers the module as well as the injectors is from a 20amp fuse number 10. It is supposed to be hot in the On position.If you have no power there with the key on, check the key switch.

Could be a problem with the cam or crank sensor, the ignition module, the plug wires could be on the wrong coil towers, or a fuel injector issue.Is the check engine light on when the engine is running ?

Try cleaning your terminals at the battery, even if not corroded. In my years as an alarm/radio installer I have come across this problem constantly, especially on GM vehicles.

The shift problem is a result of the misfire. Correct the misfire and you will correct what seems to be a transmission issue.

This type of noise is likely to be a universal joint that is worn out in the drive line. have a shop put it on a lift and inspect the joints.
