A/c heater dash controls not working

Very common of the GM's, I've changed out many climate controls! You should be able to pick 1 up at most any salvage yard for a very reasonable price and it never hurts to check with the parts stores as well as they have started carrying them too! Hope this helps you.

No fuel and no spark

fuel pump , fuel pump relay on fire wall, fuel filter, may all need replaced, pump in tank, inspect all wiring in this circuit, especially all grounds,, grounds get overlooked & that is sometimes the problem. I have a 1988 gmc 2500, I 'm talking from experience. can you hear if fuel pump runs for 2 seconds, when you turn key on ? if not, ground problem or pump problem. relay has a fuse in it, check that. check all fuses. NOW, spark ! coil ? plug wires ? distributor cap & rotor ? replace them if you haven't !!!!!!!!!! get to work, see how you do ! good luck !

1989 GMC truck windows will not go up or down

If you take off the inside Door Panel. You should see a Belt that goes through the gears, check and see if it is broke. You probably need to replace it.

Transmission hesitates shifting to second and keeps downshifting from overdrive too quickly

Check the vacuum modulator and the hose going to it. Also check for vacuum leaks on or around the engine. Have you checked the fluid level or changed the fluid in the transmission? How about the throttle position sensor? (if it has one).

Are you a TBI?(throttle body injector) if you are take the top of the air cleaner out step on the gas pedal(do this in park hood open fire extinguisher on the ready.) does it backfire through the air cleaner if it does you are in need of a whole distributor unit the distributor unit has a relector that has a high tendency for failure by the way the vehicle sound there is only 2 possible problems you coil is faulty and this includes the connection to the coil which has a tendency to seperateor the connection to the ICM.(ignition control module where the coil is) or the whole distributor reluctor

Have a short. A battery

You can ground it pretty much to any existing bolt on the frame. If the area you choose is painted, sand it down to the metal for good continuity and you're set.
