Vw clutch cable swap
First how much play is in the pedal before is gets tight? If there is more the 1/2" are clutch is not releasing from the pressure plate and flywheel. If it is good the trouble maybe the pressure plate. The springs can become bad and one side will not let the pressure plate and flywheel to disengage. The later is may bet what is the problem and why they sold the car. Hope it helps
Coolant temperature sensor?????
um...strange ...engine temp reaches 210 before thermostat opens and lets water circulate ..fans go on before that normally..180 or so..hot air from heater going to cold air? strange...could you elaborate for me /us?
Vr6 golf temp
As a safety measure, fit a new thermostat and senser. Then top up with antifreeze and water pertaining to where you are.
1994 2.0l golf devil car
Let's start with air in the hose. When you changed the thermostat you have to bleed the system to remove this air. IF you don't the thermostat won't ever come on. The air pulsing in the hose IS NOT NORMAL. Do you know how to bleed the system??
The oil light. First check if the oil level in the car is good. If yes check the oil pressure. You need a gauge. Make sure to simulate the problem and test the pressure when the light comes on. If the pressure is good 2 options. First defective oil pressure switches very cheap to replace. sometimes you can even buy lower pressure ones that won't make the light come on. OR the oil grade is too thin. Try a 10w30 instead of 5 w30 thicker oil will cause less drop in hot oil pressures.
The cluster lights. Most probally a bad connection in the cluster. Losts of " A3 " body clusters were able to be repared but you need to do it right. It is printed board.
The radio. Check and find the radio fuse. Under the steering wheel a little to the left. If the radio fuses are good check for power and ground at the radio. If all is good radio needs to be replaced as the face probally got loose.
For the engine light have a garage pas a scanner cause it can be related to alot of things other than an O2 sensor. You'll save money by knowing what it is and not guessing.
Charging light is on (altenatoe was checked and ok)
You may have a faulty alternator that is almost dead, intermitenly charging then not. If it stays on for a while longer, be careful because it could cause the car to die, as the car would be running on the battery until the charge was depleated.
Good luck, and hope this helps
Head unit power problem for 1994 golf
Did you install the radio yourself ?
if you did it your self i sugest you take it to a profetional i`m sure they i`ll fix you up unless you burn your radio or circuitry ...
Oil pressure light
either you have a bad sensor or you need to put new gaskets on. since its a 1994 it probably needs new gaskets anyways. so that's were i would start. if that doesn't solve it then my bet is its a sensor. but the gaskets should set you back to much. Probably at the most a $100 or so. but a sensor could cost around $250 or more.
Adjusting the front break
did you change the front, back or both. if it was just the front then you need to put new back brakes in because that's were most of your brake pedal feel comes from. if it was both i would start looking at your brake system to see were the rear brake adjustment valve is and then start fiddling with it till it feels better.
1994 Volkswagen MK1 golf knocking noise
Very simple.... I had this problem and it drove me Crazy.... your gearbox engine mount is gone. When you look at it it will look fine but when under load it moves. creating the knocking noise..
Use a crowbar (Very carefully) to move the engine to check.
Vw golf 1994 indicators
Hi,
Most Golf and Jetta have their relays bunched together with the fuse block. Often, it would be inside the fuse box/compartment located under the facia panel, on the right-hand side, behind a removable cover. On most models, the flasher relay would be labeled 21.
Incidentally, sometime ago, there was a recall on some Golf where Volkswagen dealers will install a new hazard flasher switch/relay kit to remedy a common issue. You may want to try first Volkswagen at 1-800-822-8987.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards.
Thank you for using FixYa.

Your cable from the battery needs to be in great shape. If this happens mostly when the weather is very hot, it is quite likely the cause.
