The problem can be on the power steering pump itself. If the power steering pump is faulty, the power steering fluid does not circulate properly. One good reason why it squeaks when wheel is turned. Check the power steering belt too if they are not sloppy. If it is, adjust the pump to tighten the belt.

But before doing the power steering pump replacement, please do check the power steering fluid level. You may need to fill it up a little and turn the wheel from left to right. By turning the wheel to the max left and max right, the steering fluid will circulate and may get rid of the problem.

If the problem still persists after putting on new fluids, go for the power steering pump replacement. Be sure to tighten the power steering belt after replacement.

try replacing the pressure switch on the side of the block.if that dont work then its an engine out job and replace the pump.

when you use the washer function of the control arm you also turn on the intermitant wiper function,you need to quickly press the washer setting to switch it off.(bloody clever these VW designers.....)

Bring it into VW the shifter has to be reset and the hard plastic bushing that make the shifter work have to be replaced. There is a special toolVW uses to reset the shifter on these vehicles NOT ALL SHOPS HAVE IT. This is a no brainer. If the Dealer is gonna ask a fortune to repair it(Which they shouldn't) You can purchase this tool on line and with the shop manual you can do this yourself.

Reverse Sychronizer is worn. You need a transaxle rebuild.

first remove it on the gearbox. when you have an automatic cable please buy conventional one. it its fixed with a kind of key push cable down and remove key. other side is just on a hook on the pedal under the steeringwheel goodluck
