1983 mazda e1600 keeps flattning the battery but the alernator is charging i have a 1978 workshop manual but it must be diffrent because i can not find the regulator anywere on my car
some of them were internaly regulated and some were not also are you sure it has the origianal style alternator? after that many years it could have been upgraded to a newer style. if the alternator is in good working order and the battery checks out good you may have a slight draw. the best way to check for that is to pull all non esential fuses one at a time checking fo a draw " noticeable spark when you put the batt cable on". the most common draw on a syatem that old is the door switch for int lighting followed by the cig lighter. its also posible for the brake light switch to be worn to the point that its leaching power as if the brake pedal is depressed, not enough to light the bulbs but enogh to drain the battery.i hope this helps, let me know if you need further help and please dont forget to rate my solution. good luck!

what you need to do ,is when problem is there ,is put a meter on your starter wire ,its small wire going to starter and see are you getting voltage to it when you turn key if you are then you have a problem with your starter .if no voltage maybe a wiring problem or neutral switch somewhere on line or relay
It turns ower but will
As per the problem, it can be fuel related or problem with spark plugs and coils. It has to be tested to confirm the problem.-----------
A car that cranks/turns over but doesn't start, in many cases will be
due to a bad fuel pump, a broken timing belt, an inoperative cam sensor or
crank sensor. Also these problems are related to faulty spark plug. Check the
spark at spark plugs when you start the car. Do you notice any spark. Actually
you should see. If in case there is no spark then it's a spark plug problem.
Also the coil pack gives power to spark plug. So check the voltage at coil
pack. It will show 12 volt. If there is no voltage noticed at coil pack then
its faulty coil pack that has to be replaced. If all the possible options
checked out ok then check the car starter. The starter gets power from battery
to start the car. If the starter is faulty then it will not let the car to
start. Also check and confirm that there is fuel in the car. If its very low
fuel then in some cases this causes the problem. Also check and confirm that
fuel pump is functioning properly and the fuel filter is not clogged. One of
the easiest ways to check for a fuel pump related problem is to spray a little
starting fluid into the air intake while trying to start the car. If the car
starts momentarily, then there's a good chance the fuel pump is not working or
the car is out of gas. You can also listen for the fuel pump's humming sound
when the key is first turned on. Also if a inoperative fuel pump is suspected,
a good technician will always check to verify there is power and ground being
supplied to the pump, to eliminate the possibility of a bad relay or electrical
issue. Fuel pressure can be checked with a pressure gauge and if there is
pressure, pulse can be checked at the fuel injectors in several ways including
the most common, with the use of noid lights. If the injectors don't have pulse
the engine won't start. ---------- This troubleshooting tips will help you to solve the problem. Thanks.

I own a E1800 van.
Check the throttle cable is pulling the throttle all the way open....if okay....
Possible blocked exhaust system...usually the catalytic converter. Remove the Oxygen Sensor and road test....if quicker, you found the problem.
...or go to a shop and ask fro a back pressure test. They will install a probe and gauge in the exhaust and run engine at 2000 to 2500 rpm and briefly to WOT.
Any reading over 2 psi indicates a partially blocked muffler system.
My mazda is having too

dear friend-it sounds like you are having a circulation problem, when the engine has reached normal working temp feel the two radiator hoses they should be the same heat, also check the water pump to see if the impeller is not loose,it is not to say that the radiator is clean after a flush,it must be opened to clean.
My 1998 B2500TD has started
Probably the start of a head gasket breech. You can buy a block tester at your local parts store for thirty to forty dollars. Follow the insructions in the box, and it will detect exhaust gasses in your coolant. this is a pretty sure way to detect a combustion to cooling system breech. The cat converter may be masking the white smoke from the coolant once it reaches temp.
