2001 F350 Charging problems
actually the only thing i can recomend is to have the alternator replace again for warranty and before starting the truck charge the batteries very well with a baterie charger make sure to charge them individually because with a low batterie the alternator has to put a lot of load and might burnt again
specially with dual batterie.
2011 f350 pcm problems
PCM is probably under the 7/70,000 EPA emission warranty and can be replaced for free if it is the PCM. If it is under 7 years, 70,000 miles and the PCM is bad, then the EPA warranty kicks in. The average dealership will try to scam out of this one, but if you stick to your guns, you can get it replaced. If they refuse, ask the question "Can you prove that this bad PCM is not causing pollution when the engine is not running correctly?". Most cannot prove it so you can get it replaced.
F350 super duty power stroke diesel loss of power steering when standing still
Power steering pump is weak. If a hydraulic gauge were placed on the pump, you would find it only able to produce about 200-400 psi at an idle. PS requires up to 1500psi. A new pump would produce 1500psi at an idle so replace the pump and you will be fine. By revving up the motor you are able to make the pump put out more psi. The pump is defective internally. Get a good one from the junkyard. Most PS pumps last the life of the vehicle.
Ford Diesel glow plug relay goes out every year since 1993
The relay should cost about $35-45. A common Ford Starter relay can be used in place of the official glow plug relay. All that is required is a relay with terminals that have 5/16 or 3/8 terminals and can carry about 150-200 amps. When all 8 glow plugs turn on, it draws about 150 amps is all. There are two relays for the 7.3 diesel. One energizes the glow plugs and the other energizes a heating element in the air intake. That one is used to help eliminate white smoke while warming up and is turned on and off by the engine computer. It is usually only called for when the temperature is 20 degrees F or lower.Otherwise only the glow plug relay works.
Where is the glow plug
I have an 01 7.3 and I see 2 relays near the fuel filter, how do I know which one is for the glow plugs?
FORD 7.3L P0381
I would check the glow plug system. Make sure that the glow plug relay is working and if thats ok. I would check each individual glow plug and replace if needed.
