how and where you change automatic oil on 1.8 golf petrol
Posted by jgmobile on
Its not as hard as people make you think. The car needs to be level. Its under the car in the middle. The easiest way is to check out you tube for the VW transmission oil change. Use this, just copy and paste. http://youtu.be/zuCNZhwIne0

For some reason the wipers on my VW Golf are working, but only on a single slow setting. Turning up the speed increases the interval of motion (as it should), but they still wipe at a much slower rate, and always the same rate.
There is no shuddering or uneven motion, just very slow wiping.

how to remove and replace vw golf wing mirror glass and plastic cover
Posted by Anonymous... on
On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you can remove the bolts securing the mirror to the door.

VW POLO 2005.
THe garage changed the blown out fuse for the rear wiper.
After I started the car the airbag light did not go and now remains on at all times.
I sthere a fuse for the airbag...how can I swicth the light off.

This is a common occurance in vw's.
In order to turn off the airbag light you need to have a scan tool hooked up to your car because the airbag detected a fault of some sort, or it could be a faulty component in the airbag system itself.

clutch pedal box has snapped off its mounting on vw polo
Posted by kerr... on
1-disconnect battery. 2- remove all lower dash plastic panels. 3-
disconnect all plugs on steering coloumn. 4- remove shear bolts on
steering coloumn, easy with a long 8" sharp chisel (get 2 x new shear
bolts £0.50p each). 5-loosen & remove bolt at steering rack in
drivers footwell, mark position of spline before removing this makes it
east to refit (tipex). 6- pull steering coloumn out towards you &
it will slide off the bush quite easy. 7- loosen clutch cable
adjustment & remove cable nipple at pedal. 8-remove clutch pedal.
9- pull brake pedal out of plastic insert, this will break there is no
way to remove this without breaking the plastic clip. get a new brake
pedal clip insert for a Mk 3 golf £4 its the same (dont let VW sell you
a new pedal) 10- remove 5 x nuts holding pedal box to bulkhead/brake
servo. 11- cut 2 x cable ties holding throttle wiring & disconnetc
plug above heater on drivers side. 12- push/pull brake servo slightly
out of bulk head. 13- remove pedal box.
Cause of the problem- The clutch bracket is only held to the pedal box with 2 x spot welds & a 10mm tack on the top corner.
Repair- Fully Weld the clutch bracket to the pedal box. Great repair.
refitting reverse of above.
Duration around 6/8 hours Less if you get the spare parts before you start.
I wasted time trying to remove the brake pedal without breaking the clip impossible to do even with theVW tool. £4 on a new clip is well worth it.

VW Golf 200. Rear windscreen wiper not working, I have changed the motor and it still does not work. Has anyone got any ideas?

a common problem with the golf hatchback is where the cables run thru from the car to the tailgate they pass thru a rubber boot surround by the hinges. because the bootlid is open and closed many times the wires that control items on the tailgate can break.
take off the rubber boot from one side where it fits to the car and slide it back over the cables that are inside it and if you see some cables are broken that is your problem.rejoin the cables and it should be ok.this is something to check after you know that the switch is ok, it is quite a common problem. hope this helps.

I have a 2000 Golf 1600cc automatic and it won't shift into high gear. What do I do?
Posted by alison... on
Check automatic transmission fluid using dipstick, if fluid is low the automatic g/box tend not to shift properly. If the fluid level is fine you probably have an internal gearbox problem or a sensor problem (see a mechanic).
