Ford five hundred running on 5 cylinders

the code p 0302 refers to no 2 cylinder misfiring===causes --engine mechanical fault ---wiring--ignition / fuel system---injector--ECT/Maf sensor ---ECM you state that the engine runs normally for several seconds so I would eliminate a mechanical fault at this stage most misfires are from faulty injectors so reposition the injector to another cylinder and see if the miss moves along as well if it doesn't move but stays at no 2 cylinder , then it could be a problem ECM if you can get a substitute ECM of known good performance , swap it out and see if that fixes the fault

On my 05 ford five hunmdred the air bag light flashes 3 times then pauses and then flashes four times does this twice I think and stays on

Which light ? on the instrument cluster or the passenger side . If a lamp fault code (LFC) is reported by the customer but is not present when the vehicle comes in for service, follow the Diagnostic Instructions procedure in this section to identify the intermittent DTC. Lamp Fault Codes When the restraints control module (RCM) detects a system fault, it will cause the air bag indicator to flash a coded sequence; a lamp fault code (LFC). The code is 2 digits. The first digit is flashed with a 0.5-second interval between pulses. There is a 2-second pause before the second digit is flashed which also has a 0.5-second interval between pulses. There is a 5-second pause between each display of an LFC. Each LFC is flashed 3 times after which the air bag indictor will remain lit for the remainder of the key-on cycle. If there are multiple LFCs, each LFC will flash in order of priority. Lamp flash code 34 B2292 d 34 Restraint System - Seat Belt Pretensioner Fault (Passenger Pretensioner Circuit Fault) Go To Pinpoint Test R . PINPOINT TEST R: LFC 33 AND 34/DTC B2292 - RESTRAINT SYSTEM - SEAT BELT PRETENSIONER FAULT NOTE: Most faults are due to connector and/or wiring concerns. Carry out a thorough Inspection and Verification before proceeding with the pinpoint test. NOTE: The retractor pretensioner connector keying is different between vehicles. The retractor pretensioner connector shown in the following pinpoint test is equipped on the Five Hundred, the connector equipped on the Freestyle and Montego is similar. Test Step Result / Action to Take R1 CHECK FOR CONTINUOUS OR ON-DEMAND DTCs
WARNING: Restraint system diagnostic tools are for service only. Tools must be removed prior to operating the vehicle over the road. Failure to remove restraint system diagnostic tools could result in injury and possible violation of vehicle safety standards. WARNING: Do not handle, move or change the original horizontal mounting position of the restraints control module (RCM) while the RCM is connected and the ignition switch is ON. Failure to follow these instructions may result in the inadvertent deployment of the safety canopy and risk of personal injury. WARNING: Never probe the connectors on the air bag module. Doing so can result in air bag deployment, which can result in personal injury. WARNING: The safety belt pretensioner is a pyrotechnic device. Always wear safety glasses when repairing an air bag equipped vehicle and when handling a safety belt buckle pretensioner or safety belt retractor pretensioner. Never probe a pretensioner electrical connector. Doing so could result in pretensioner or air bag deployment and could result in personal injury. WARNING: Never probe the electrical connector on a safety canopy module. Doing so can result in safety canopy deployment. NOTE: If a seat equipped with a supplemental restraint system (SRS) component is being serviced, the SRS must be depowered. NOTE: After diagnosing or repairing an SRS, the restraint system diagnostic tools must be removed before operating the vehicle over the road. NOTE: The SRS must be fully operational and free of faults before releasing the vehicle to the customer.

  • Enter the following diagnostic mode on the diagnostic tool: Flag DTC B2292/ Record All Flagged Faults.
  • Enter the following diagnostic mode on the diagnostic tool: Retrieve/Flag /Record Continuous DTCs.
  • Was DTC B2292 retrieved during the on-demand self test?
Yes This is a hard fault. The fault condition is still present. This fault cannot be cleared until it is corrected and the DTC is no longer retrieved during the on-demand self test. GO to R2 . No This is an intermittent fault. The fault condition is not present at this time. Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop . .

How to adjust headlights, 05 ford 500

Headlamp Adjustment Headlamp Aiming
  1. The headlamp aiming procedure depends on what type of beam pattern the headlamp is equipped with. Vehicles may come equipped with visual optical left (VOL), visual optical right (VOR) or SAE only (includes sealed beam type) headlamps. To identify the headlamp beam pattern, look on the headlamp lens. Molded in small letters on the headlamp lens is 1 of the following:
    • SAE
    • VOL and SAE
    • VOR and SAE
  1. Once the headlamp beam pattern is identified, aim the headlamps using 1 of the following methods as applicable.
    • Photometric aimers can aim VOL-, VOR- and SAE-type headlamps only. This is the preferred method of headlamp aiming.
    • Visual or screen method aiming can be used to aim VOL-, VOR- and SAE-type headlamps only.
    • Mechanical aimers cannot be used with VOR- or VOL-type headlamps. Aerodynamic lamps that can be aimed mechanically have 3 nibs molded into the lens of the lamp.
    • Photometric Aiming
      1. For the photometric aiming procedure, refer to the appropriate photometric headlamp aimer instruction manual.
Screen Method Aiming All headlamp types NOTE: Horizontal aim is not necessary for VOL or VOR headlamps. NOTE: Consult your state vehicle inspection manual for recommended tolerance ranges for visual aiming. NOTE: The sight shield may need to be positioned or removed for access to the adjusters.
      1. Before starting headlamp adjustment:
        • check the tire inflation.
        • check that no other load is in the vehicle other than a half tank of fuel.
        • check that the headlamps are clean.
        • check for correct headlamp operation.
        • check that the vehicle is on level ground.
        • if the vehicle is equipped with air suspension, make sure that the switch is on.
      1. NOTE: The vertical wall or screen must be a minimum of 2.4-m (8-ft) wide. Park the vehicle on a level surface approximately 7.6-m (25-ft) from the vertical wall or screen directly in front of it.
      1. NOTE: The center of the lamp is marked either on the lens (circle, crosshair or other mark) or on the bulb shield internal to the lamp (crosshair or other mark). Mark a horizontal reference line on the vertical wall or screen.
        1. Measure the center of the headlamp height to ground and record the measurement.
        1. Make a 2.4-meter (8-ft) horizontal mark (using masking tape) on the vertical wall or screen at the same distance from the ground as previously recorded.
      1. NOTE: This procedure should be done in a dark environment to effectively see the headlamp beam pattern. Turn on the low beam headlamps to illuminate the wall or screen and open the hood.
      1. NOTE: For SAE-type headlamps, the appearance of the beam pattern may vary between vehicles. On the wall or screen, locate the high intensity area of the beam pattern. Place the top edge of the high intensity zone even with the horizontal reference line.
      2. SAE-type headlamps
        1. In addition to the horizontal line marked in Step 3, a pair of vertical lines must be marked at the center line of the headlamps on the wall or screen.
          1. Mark the center line of the vehicle on the wall or screen.
          1. Measure from the center of the headlamp to the center line of the vehicle.
          1. Make two 1.5-meter (5-ft) vertical marks (using masking tape) on the wall or screen at the same distance from the vehicle center line as previously recorded.
        1. On the wall or screen, locate the high intensity area of the beam pattern. Place the left edge of the high intensity zone even with the vertical line corresponding to the headlamp being adjusted.

What's the fuel pressure Spec for 2005 Ford five hundred?

Not sure what the spec should exactly be. But If you hook up a pressure gage to the fuel rail and turn the key to the on position it should build pressure to around 9bar or 130psi and hold it. If it looses pressure then you have 1 of a few possible problems.
-leak in the fuel line.
-bad check valve in fuel pump
-bad injector

If nothing happens you have a bad fuel pump. But if it does hold pressure then your engine is getting fuel. Now turn the engine over and the gage should read in the range of 18-25bar or 260-360psi. If everything checks out fuel is most likely not the reason for your problem.
