If it is as you say, I should check the body harnesses. When your Silverado was assembled at the factory, the wire harnesses began and ended at the firewall, among many other places. Each of those locations had a male & a female plug or socket. If the Silverado ever had a stress in the area of the harness plugs, they could be loose. Could also get corrosion if there was road salt if you live up north. A car wreck could cause this, or if someone removed and installed the engine. Lots of reasons. God bless your efforts.

Alot of times it's the electric shift motor on transfer case not working. With vehicle off key on press button and see if you hear it, next see if there is power down there when 4x4 is engaged. You haven't said exactly what your working on so if that's not the problem then you need to fill in some more info.

You will need to remove the fuel pump from the tank and replace the calibration dial on the side of the bracket for the pump. I am brain dead now as it is 3:00am almost and I am not able to remember what the name of the calibration unit is ,but it will need to be replaced. hope this helps.

i just went through this in my 99 silverado.It was as easy as to change the accuator. i had to bring it to a garage and the mechacnic had to syncrinize them through computer settings.I hope this helps Dan

Try unhooking the battery it does a sort of reset. And check fuses all fuses and relays

Had the same problem with my 2004 Tahoe. I turned the ignition to the run position (don't crank motor), when the warning came on I held the unlock button on the key fob until the warning was removed. I took out the key, locked then unlocked the door. When I put the key in the ignition, the warning doesn't come on anymore. Hope this helps.

Ask a local mechanic .no cable anymore and i have never seen this vehicle so i wouldnt know it runs off the ABS sensor or a speedo drive in the diff sorry

Usually if the tack works but the speedometer doesn't, something wrong with instrument cluster? As far as working on instrument cluster internally, I can't help you. You might be able to send the cluster off to be repaired? The speed signal is not hardwired to instrument cluster. It goes to pcm, the pcm sends serial data to instrument cluster for operation.

I just typed your question in my search engine and lots of diagrams and info was listed. Maybe you could try that.
