1997 chevy s10 fuel pump relay location
It is in the glove box behind a plastic panel. There will be 3 relays there. It is the one closest to the drivers side.
Hope helps (remember to rating and leave some testimonial comment about this free answer).

I have a 97 S-10 with a 4.3L. I just put an engine in it and it is hard starting and when cranking pauses in between cranks sometimes. Once started, it runs pretty smooth but when you bring the idle up, the check engine light comes on and when you check it, it reads P1345 trouble between cam and crank sensor. I replace both. The crappy Haynes manual said that you only need to be withing a few degrees of TDC on the #1 cylinder. Is it possible that I am a tooth off? Would it set a code like that?
Let's back up. On top of the distributor with the cap removed there is an "8" and a "6" on the edge. With the harmonic balancer set with its' mark lined up with the timing pointer of the timing chain cover, the tip of the rotor should be lined up with the "6". If not, remove the hold down bolt, raise the distributor until the rotor can be turned, rotate rotor and set down until rotor of tip lines up with "6". See if it cranks normally then. A worn distributor gear (sharp edges) will also set this code and cause starting problems.

need a wiring diagram for a chevy s10. brake lights quit
your power starts at the brake light fuse, check with a test light, then proceed to stop light switch on brake pedal under dash, one wire will be hot when when you check it with your test light, the other won't be until you press down the brake pedal then the power flows through to the second wire,if no power to second wire replace switch,if you have power remove tail light bulbs and check for power in side socket.

Been there done that. Lights still went from low or high beam to no daytime running light when I took the fuse out. I also tried to hot wire across the relay and that didn't help. Any other suggestions? Know where I can get a copy of the headlight wiring diagram anywhere?
ya know it kinda sounds like the headlight switch that switches from high beam to low beam has a bad contact. You don't have one of those 4-beam modules that turn on all 4 lights on high beam do you? that thing screwed my whole headlight system up, I ended up throwing it in the trash.
I have the chiltons and haynes manual, I'm sure between the two we'll find a good diagram. I gotta get my youngin to open house at school, but I'll pull the books out and send you the wiring diagram.

there seems to be a leak on the backside of the water pump on my 97 chevy s-10 with a 3.0 v-6. I was wondering if there is a gasket on the backside that may be leaking? Also, how hard is it to replace the water pump itself?
you will need to replace the water pump itself and its pretty easy to do. take of the top half of the fan shroud, pop off the hoses to the water pump and the take out the bolts to the water pump

When I hit the switch to turn on the headlights, all lights come on except the headlights. Daytime running lamps stay on. Any POSITIVE solutions?
See if you can hold on your highbeams, as a temporary solution, until you can check and see if the fuse in the switch to turn your lights on is burnt out. I had the same problem with my car and apparently it was a defective part that GM had produced, but obviously they won't replace it free of charge. I would suggest going to an auto-wreckers and picking up a new switch there... the part usually costs around $400 in Canada.

I have power to the relay, and when i ground they relay, the horn works, but when i push the horn button, it does not work. I figure the horn button went bad, I plan on installing another button, but I don't have a wiring schematic to know what color the wire is for the horn button, any idea other than buying a chevy repair manual, I have one, but it does not give the wiring schematic for the horn, it just had a "typical" horn schematic.
You most likely need a new clock spring rotating contact under the steering wheel, it is a plastic ribbon with wire in it to connect the horn button and other accessories to the steering wheel while allowing the wheel to turn.
