1998 Pontiac Grand Am. How do I fix an anti theft issue please?

Question edited for clarity. Question moved to model category TWO duplicates deleted! Refresh page to see your question. You can't Bypass Security and Immobilizer, it is there to stop exactly what you are trying to do. You have to fix it, not find a way around it. Two computers and a security module are there to stop you. The first thing is to reset it. Is the antitheft light on? Or you call an auto electrician https://www.google.com/search?q=mobile+auto+electrician+near+me Turn the key to the on position for 10 minutes then turn off, repeat 2 more times. the system should reset. Mine usually resets on the second time, if the security light stops flashing then i try to start. My mechanic told me it takes three times to reset but it never has on my car, good luck. Apr 3, 2009

How do you increase the idol on a 1998 pontiac grand am

If it's idling too low there's a problem somewhere perhaps the throttle position sensor or maf sensor, a scanner that can read the live data stream can quickly pick it out, Sensors can fail "in range" so they may not set any codes because the computer see's a valid nimber even though it's incorrect. If it has a maf sensor that can be cleaned with brake klenn or carb cleaner you might try it. I hope this helps. Take care.

How to remove third brake light on cover 1995 pontiac grand am to change abulb

Probably a little late, but for people in the future, pull down on the plastic cover from the sides, there are two pop in clips holding it there. You'll have to pull the roofing down a bit and you'll see two Phillips screws to release the light, then just change the bulbs. Mine said on the actual bracket that it only used 912 bulbs.

How do I install a ignition coil on a 1998 Pontaic Grand AM 2.4L 4CYL DOHC

The coils are under the top engine cover(four bolts,10mm) Unplug it and pull it up. Flip it over and there are four small bolts to remove to get access to the coils. Just a note. Most times the coils aren't bad. It is the white cover holding them. It cracks from age and heat, letting the spark threw to the engine.

Do I need to remove the drums to ajust the brakes on a 98 Pontiac grand am?

If your are talking rear brakes system with brake shoes not pads...then not always..depends on if your car has adjustment slots on the backside of the mounting plate...they normally have small rubber plugs..if it does then you do not need to remove the drum...you can borrow a adjusments tool from auto zone or most any of them..it is a little tricky account of the self adjuster built in..it needs to be pushed up when using the tool..but can be done...I SUGGEST REMOVING THE DRUM BECAUSE THEY HAVE SELF ADJUSTERS AND IF THEY NEEDED ADJUSTED..CHANCES ARE YOU NEED BRAKE SHOES..GOOD LUCK...
