If there is a problem in the ABS system then light will not turn off until the problem is fixed because it is a safety issue.

it sounds like a tps or tbs. it a throttle position (body) sensor. it a plug that will be on or near the intake, have you had any work done to it lately?

need to know the clearance between gears and timing cover they may even have a cover to work at parts store

I had a similar problem of my terano intemittantly not starting. There would be a click from the solenoid then nothing. Initially if I rocked the vehicle in gear I would hear a click and then it would start. This went on for about a year. I decided to shorten the electrical path to the starter, which appeared to solve the problem for a while. Then it started happening again, same way to fix, by rocking the vehicle. Starter moter was looked at, (thought brushes might be worn out) nothing really found, problem went away for another 12 months. This time auto electrician and I decided that the problem was that the brushes were getting stuck. After good clean problem has gone (now at least 2 years later)

in order for an engine to run, you need compression, fuel, and spark. you are probably missing one of these 3. remove your air tube from the air filter box .eand spray starting fluid, or brake cleaner into the throttle body. if it starts, you pave a fuel problem. i e fuel pump of pump control

Assuming that the vehicle is equipped with an automatic transmission, it looks like the torque converter lock-up system doesn't release as fast as it should, so if you brake hard, the converter is still locked up and your wheel brakes stall your engine (just like pressing ******* the brakes with the clutch pedal released on a manual transmission vehicle). Normally, when you brake hard, the lock-up should release and prevent the stall from happening. Might be a bad torque converter, or a bad lock up solenoid in the transmission... Before jumping to anything else, i'd try checking the fluid level in the transmission and an oil/filter change in the transmission. Lots of times one or the other can cure the problem.

You'll probably have to change the clutch plate on the flywheel. You'll have to get a floor jack, but a transmission jack is easier to remove the transmission. To remove the transmission you'll have to remove the tortion bars on both front wheels. Also, you'll have to remove the crossmember aft of the transfer case. You'll also have to remove the front and rear drive shafts. The manual says you should keep the transfer case from leaking oil out the back. but, you can just top it off after you're done. Be careful not to damage the seal seal for the rear drive shaft. Anyway, once you get the transmission and transfer case out (you'll have to remove the shift and transfer case levers), you should have enough space to remove the clutch plate from the flywheel on the engine. You should have an alignment tool to make sure the clutch plate is aligned with the crankshaft so you can put the transmission back on.

have you checked the rotor and distributor cap?

Someone will need to figure out if you are loosing spark or fuel when the engine will not stay running.

have got same problem with my 95 terrano deisel. if you leave for 10 or more seconds after glow plug light goes out it starts fine. aparantly they still glow after the light goes out.

Most likely you are "over-starting" when you crank the engine, try to lessen the time you crank over, I own one and they start very well so be quick about it,

Have the fault codes read. Replace the faulty units withgenuine one because most aftermarket units are not set for OEM cpu units and are not completely compatible.
