Runs good for about 45

I have a altima that did this, turned out to be the fuel pump. But I would replace the fuel filter first and see if it solves your problem. Filters clog up, they will give the pressure to start , but wont give the flow and pressure to keep up.

Got 300zx thats sat for 8 yrs car starts and runs

Slave cylinder is located on the side of the transmission behind the main flywheel housing and points towards the engine. Follow the clutch pipe down from the master cylinder. The slave is about 12cm long by 4cm in diameter with a bleed nipple on the top. You may want to change the fluid after 8 years! What can happen if the car has not been moved is that the clutch disc becomes bonded to the flywheel by corrosion, exactly in the same way the brake pads can seize the rotors. Make sure the wheels are free to rotate. Lift a rear wheel clear of the ground and chock the front wheels, as you start the car the differential will transfer the power to the lifted wheel. With the foot hard on the clutch take the engine up to about 2000rpm, hold the accelerator at that speed and pull the hand brake on and off slowly. With luck the snatch of the handbrake biting make break loose the clutch plate. You will know when it breaks free as the engine will rev freely. When you do get it free, slip the clutch for a while to scrape clean the friction plate on the flywheel. Likewise when the car is moving ride the brakes to polish the rotors of corrosion.

How to replace the heater core on a 1985 300Z

If it is necessary to remove the heater assembly, the cooling system must be drained before removing the heater core.
When a heater core leaks, a new heater core is installed or the old one repaired.
Heater Housing
  • The heater housing is usually under the dash and must be removed to gain access to the heater core.
  • Procedures for replacing the heater core vary with the year, make, and model of car. It threfore necessary to consult the manufacturer's repair manuals for the proper procedure for replacement.
f74-01.gif The heater housing is disassembled to get to the heater core. Heater Core
  • Remove the access panels(s) or the split heater/air conditioning case to gain acess to the heater core.
  • Remove the heater coolant hoses.
  • Remove the cable and/or vacuum control lines (if equipped).
  • Remove the heater core securing brackets and/or clamps.
  • Lift the core from the case. Do not use force. Take care not to damage the fins of the heater core when removing.
  • To reinstall the heater core, reverse the removal steps.
When the heater core leaks and must be repaired or replaced, it is a very difficult and time-consuming job primarily because of the core's location deep within the firewall of the car. For this reason always leak test a replacement heater core before installation.
