What causes the radio display light not to come on? Also, how can we get the gas gauge to work?

The gas guage is likely a bad ground to the gas tank. Check the wiring harness where it comes from the body and goes into the gas tank. Likely there is broken wire there. The harness usually has 2 or 3 wires one may be neutral for both the pump and the fuel gauge. or 2 wires each. An Ohm (resistance) tester will show a particular amount of resistance on 2 wires indicating that the fuel guage is working properly as the resistance will be different depending on how much gas is in the tank. You should be able to buy a cheap digital tester for $10.00 It is likely that these wires are damaged close to the tank or in that harness area that is exposed to the elements, perhaps even at the spot where it goes back into the body or where the harness joins to the tank harness connector. Look for broken or corroded wires here. Try running a piece of wire from the body to the gas tank and see if it makes the fuel guage work indicating a bad ground to the tank.

Hi I have a 1996 grand prix SE 3.1L engine. Its

Yes, the pump is on passenger side. But when car is moving, the coolant that leaked can get blown all over, so you need to check carefully. Use rags to wipe off all the coolant you can see, then when more leaks out, maybe you can see where it comes from. The noise on driver's side might be coolant boiling inside the engine. Be careful it doesn't overheat, or you will be doing the gasket job again. On the backside of the engine (near the firewall), a couple of possibilities: the heater hoses are there, so check them for leaks. Also on the engine block, about halfway up the block, there are 3 or 4 freeze plugs, spaced evenly along the engine (also on the front side of the engine-the same freeze plugs. Check if any of these are leaking. Use a flashlight and maybe get under the engine to look around-be careful if you have to raise the car-don't trust a jack, but use blocks or jack stands.. The freeze plugs are round metal plugs about 1 1/2 inches in diameter, and pressed into the block. You can see or feel them. They can be punched out and new ones pushed in. But make sure you have one that is leaking before attempting that. Good luck, Joe.

How to i remove power steering pump

I suspect the pump is not leaking but a hose that goes to the pump. Either way this is a difficult job. Almost everything that is on the pump side of the engine must be removed first to get access to the pump and it's hoses. Good Luck.
