Ignition fuse location

Check the fuse boxes, it's normally labeled. If the label has come off or is unreadable, check them all with a fuse light. These can be purchased cheaply and are very easy to use.

Gauges very low and loss of performance

Thats awful. hows the battery? Loss of performance? Check the cat. Clogged cats really bog down engines. Being that old, its probably time. I usually see cats go bad around 150k-200k miles.

Accelleration skipping

maybe a map sensor, the large sensor inline with the air tube just aft of the airbox. it could also be a MAP sensor or manifold air pressure sensor. both are respnsible for correlating with the engine computer to control fuel.

How do I open the gas tank door

Most cars have a wire loop inside the luggage compartment for this purpose, it is located at the rear fender beneath the rug. Just pull the wire backwars whith one hand while opening the gas door with the other.

How do you open gas tank door

The regular opener is broken? Most Pontiacs have a secondary opener in the trunk. Open the trunk and there should be a pull cord right by the filler area.

1997 bonneville change starter and battery and
