Where is the oil pump located on a 88 nissan 300 zx
pump isb behind the timing belt cover and is on the timing mechanism. all this has to be removed to change the pump.

Hi, if I change my computer to my Nissan 300ZX
There is no re-setting. You just change it out. Be sure and disconnect battery before unplugging the ecu. It's a simple swap and go. If yours is like my '87 Sentra, there is no trouble code capability, but there are limited diagnostic functions. The red and green LED lights and the diagnostic switch (on/off), can tell you if problems are present in the system or not. You just have to follow the diagnostic procedure. Here's how: Make sure diagnostic switch on ecu is off. Run engine at 2000 rpm for 5 minutes, at no load. Look at green led: if it flashes at least 5 times in 10 seconds (that is the oxygen sensor making it flash), turn car off. Turn diagnostic switch on. Turn key to on, do not start engine. Check led's: if red is off and green on steady-No problems present in system. If the red light is on and green light is flashing, post back and I can furnish the rest of the diagnostic procedure-basically, you will be checking voltages and resistance of all solenoids and relays the ecu controls. The green led may flash in two different sequences (either longer flashes and short pauses, or longer pauses and short flashes) when in diag. mode (with the red led on), and that will lead you down two different diagnostic routes. Pretty simple, really, and pretty effective. Took me hours and hours before I realized I even had this diagnostic function.
Hydrolic clutch makes grinding noise when in nutural...
It's the throw out bearing. They probably call it a Clutch Release Bearing.
Envision a round large thick tube. On this tube put a bearing at the end of it. Now put a thick metal doughnut on that bearing. The thick metal tube stays stationary, and the metal doughnut spins.
The bearing this 'metal doughnut is riding on, is bad.
Solution? Have this throw-out bearing replaced.

Battery ground wire
On most Nissan products, the ground cable is bolted to the body before it gets to the engine connection. The large cable handles both connections. There may also be additional ground wires between the engine and body.
