My Nissan Sunny car, 2006
Most auto parts stores where I live will check and give you the trouble code on your dash for free. Getting that code will help identify the most likely cause of the problem. The code usually give several possible cause's but will help minimize your search.
I have a 2004 Nissan
I had the same symptoms with my '04. It turned out to be the fuel pump. When gas tank was full, it wouldn't stall, only when fuel got low. Also started hard. Took about 3 time turning over to start. Replacing fuel pump is super easy, takes about 30 minutes for someone familiar with car repairs. Remove rear seat, turn 3 tabs on cover with screwdriver or 10 mm wrench. Unplug wires to pump and set cover aside. Pinch fuel line clip and remove fuel line. Remove 6 bolts (8 mm) and retaining ring comes off. Pump can now be removed. Installation is reverse of removal. Pump is spring loaded a little.
The car shuts off for less than a second while driving in the winter
i would think the breather pipe on the front is getting blocked with the snow, and this will block of air getting into the engine you would need to make an extender and turn it round in the winter so that it get air coming in from the radiator side and not the front as you drive. or you could cut the old one in half and put a nother pipe the same size as the inner diameter of the pipe and in somer put it in normal position and in winter turn it around so it dont get the air from coming in from the font get from the back or ground side. this should stop snow building up in the breather.
