My brake lights are stuck
The switch might be broken.
Sometimes there is a rubber bumper on the brake pedal arm to cushion the switch. That usually breaks off and the lights stay on.

How do you take off a water pump on a 1988 nissan
Pull shroud off for fan,take fan off waterpump,loosen alternator bolt,remove.belts,pull timing cover.that with give you access to waterpump.it's a good idea to change hoses to pump because it's all behind timing cover,I also changed my timing belt at the same time. It's a pretty good job and I did'nt want to have to do it again for a while.

1988 300zx turbo-automatic has intermittent
The famous MAF (mass airflow sensor) yours is a vane movement type this is the famous intermittent failure, here is the good new just adjust it. you dont have to relace it, the way to do it is to open the blaack cover and tension down the spring, (just a tad) this is the one of the solution. 300 zx has a proor ground problem to the MAF the fix and the solution is to get the MAF gound sensor and make a addition ground bolt it to the intake and your done. On the MAF sensor it the 3rd wire MAF ground NOT THE MAF ECM NEGATIVE connection

Your battery is just to get the car started, then the alternator supplies the power to run all electrical and keep the battery charged up. If the alternator fails, it will drain any battery to nothing. You will need a volt meter to test it. Normally a battery has around 13 volts with the car not running, (DC) and when it's running you should get an increase in voltage. If you have less, your alternator is not working.
